At some moments in a week I get a massive sudden feeling of sadness.
Not that I'd want to cry, more that I'm afraid or something, usually paired with suicidal thoughts.
It clears up after like 30 minutes but sometimes I really just want to hang myself - for no apparent reason.
I scare myself :(

I'm a generally popular and happy person, I go out, I work, my assignments are always marked with "sufficient" or "good"... It's just that sometimes, when I'm working behind my computer I get these moments.
I don't think it's chronic depression, wouldn't I be feeling shitty all the time?

There may be something from your mind you need to let free, I got a few suicide thoughts once myself, and was depressed for a long time, I finally realised it was a problem I had to let out and I recently found it, and I have been improving.
Depression may come for little to know reason at sometimes, though lasting ones are usually bad, you should seek help. I got mine from a few good NG users.
you should see a specialist. depression comes on without any reason--- just go get some medication and you'll feel better
Sometimes people just get sad.
Maybe you've got a lot on your plate right now?

Well, I'm not a therapist but I'd say, maybe since you work behind a desk, you got bored of repeting the same thing, and your self-concious is telling you you're a number.
