I decided Pzy was right, so the list now has a 50 review requirement. However, Wiggles and James' stats are still listed, just not given ranks on the actual list.

Oh, and jon... sorry about dem red sox. And no, I didn't know the URL to get to the responded-to reviews (and hadn't thought to find it through my GG menu... mostly because it's still not a direct route to the number).

If I really felt like being obsessive about this list, I might use that method. But this is just kinda a fun diversion, and besides, I like just adding people who want to be added, and updating people who give me stats for updating. Sooo much different than running an "official" unofficial list, like my two top 50s. So much less work, too.

Just wanted to let you know I deleted your post, not because of anything you did, but just so the topic would disappear from the front page of WIHT (gotta delete any posts that bumped it, and while you didn't bump it, once the bump post was gone, yours would have still kept the topic hanging around for others to get confused by and start replying to without noticing the dates on the posts).

Keep that in mind, folks. I won't ban for people replying in bumped topics (unless they do stupid "BAN THE BUMPER!" type stuff, of course), but I will delete posts, so don't bother replying to bumped topics unless the bump was for a good reason (list update, something like that).

On general, such topics fall underneath new topics fairly quickly, but here on WIHT they're liable to jam up the works for hours if not days.

Well, I'm now 937/75, which I think keeps me more or less stationary, give or take fractions of a point.

If you discount the two new people with over 500, you actually gained a place... all you need to do is put in a couple of days where you review ten or so movies and you'll be safe for a while. When I came back after being away for a week and read through all the topics, I saw you and LockClock's messages in your sig, and went and investigated your ban messages, finding the URL that led to it. Old topics shouldn't be revived unless you have something to say that makes reviving it acceptable. For instance, if a new member of WIHT is added, I'd revive the WIHT memberlist topic to post the new memberlist, even though it's been dead for months now.

But if I wanted to talk about video games, I'm not going to go revive a 6 month old topic about video games and confuse the hell out of everyone who sees it pop up. Most people see a topic appear, and assume it was JUST MADE. This leads to replying to very old posts that may have no relevance or accuracy any longer, and can often start or restart old arguments from old topics.

This impression (that topics that pop up are new) isn't helped by the fact that the NG BBS shows the last person to post in a topic and the time THEY posted in it, but it doesn't show the original topic creation date on the topic list. Not that people would still not notice.

Anyway, don't worry too much about it. Unless you're adding to a spam or stat or whatever topic, you're not likely to be banned for getting fooled by a topic bump and replying in it. But if I find the topic and think it shouldn't have been bumped, I *will* delete the posts that are keeping it from slipping back into the archives, so be aware your post may be deleted.

Just did that, in fact, with an old topic of biteme than 2 people posted in after 7 months of no posts, for no good reason.
