Hey guys, here's the dealio. I've been working on developing a D&D server for the game "Neverwinter Nights". (If you have no idea what D&D is, or you hate D&D, just click the back button, i don't want to hear it.) I've been creating this game for about 5 years. Within this game, i have constructed a clan organization (Name of clan withheld, for legal reasons). That involves over 100 members, and a wide range of diverse characters. But now that Neverwinter Nights 2 has been released, i've decided to recreate everything. So, here's where i need your help.

First off, Neverwinter Nights is an MMORPG created by Bioware. What i want to do, is create character sets, that players can choose, and use within the server i'm making (Kind of like using an action figure in the game, it's already made, you just get to play with it) Below, i've provided all of the information for creating a D&D character. Mix and match, whatever, and post your ideas. You wil be credited in the game for your idea.

First note: This is not a game thread, all i need is ideas to create a computer game

Here's an example of one of my creations

Character design format
Name: Darious Lock (Aka: Desslock)
Race: Human Male
Class/es: Ranger / Assassin
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Clan Ranking: Sniper
Weapon/s of choice: Heavy Crossbow
Armor of choice: Light / Black
Spell/s of choice: Darkness, True Shot
Profession: Long ranged attacks
Description: Blah blah blah stuff about me.

Name: Most characters need names. Any sort of name, that's fitting to the character will do (No names like Dingledoodle McFuckshit...) Certain race types have different name styles
Dwarves have words like "Rocksplitter" or "Heavyboot"
Elven names are fucking impossible to pronounce, but look cool, like "Drizzt Do'Urden"
Gnome and Halfling names are simple, and often end with titles such as "Kevin the Snitch"
Orc and Ogre names use "Org" and "Ok" alot. Think of somthing clever. (Also end with titles)

Race types

Human: Average height, humans adapt to an sort of lifestyle
Dwarf: Shorter than humans, but bulk with muscle, dwarves naturally have great strength and toughness
Elven: Slender build, elves are elegant, and deadly
Gnome: Shorter than dwarves, Gnomes are known for being tricky theives, and informants
Halflings: Midlevel between Gnome and Dwarf, Halflings are fairly weak, but highly intellegent
Gensai: Celestial creatures, gensais have certain control over elements (Fire, water, earth, air)
Aasimar: Holy creatures that are mixed with human and celestial traits
Tiefling: Infernal creatures that are mixed with human and demon traits
Half-Orc: Mixed with human and orge blood, Half-Orcs are naturally very strong, but lack intelligence.

Classes
FIghter: Basic offensive/defensive class. uses any sort of weapons and fighting styles
Bard: Perfers talking, rather than close combat. Also uses spells and tricks
Cleric: Devine caster, clerics pray to holy (or unholy) beings, that grant them power
Druid: Druids protect their surroundings, and destroy intruders. (elven favored class)
Monk: Silent, and deadly, monks make good assassins
Paladin: Living war-machine, paladins gain stength from divine beings, to smite evil (or good too...)
Ranger: Rangers perfer long ranged attacks, and slipping in and out of shadows
Rouge: Sneak attack specialists, rouges kill their prey quickly, and steal what they can.
Sorcerer: Gain their magic abilities naturally, rather than books. They have less power, but more spells
Warlock: A blend between fighter and wizard, using melee combat, with buffer spells
Wizard: Gains power and magic through learning. More powerful than sorcerers, but have less spells memorized
Prestige classes (Secondary classes)
Arcane Archer, Arcane Trickster, Assassin, Blackguard, Divine Champion, Duelist, Dwarven Defender, Eldritch Knight, Frenzied Bezerker, Pale Master ("The dead wizard"), Red Dragon Desiple, Shadow Theif of Amn, Shadow Dancer, Warpriest, Weapons Master, Favored Soul, Spirit Shaman, Arcane Scholar of Candlekeep, Invisible Blade, Red Wizard, Sacred Fist (Powermonk), Stormlord.

All terms and classes property of Dungeons & Dragons, and Bioware.

Alignment:
Lawful Good: Typical good guy
Neutral Good: The Nice guy
Chaotic Good: Good guy, but a little out of control
Lawful Neutral: Good guy, plays by his own rules
Neutral: Neither good, or evil. Does what he wants
Chaotic Neutral: The quiet type, often underestimated
Lawful Evil: Follows his own code of "honor"
Neutral Evil: Kills those who oppose him, leaves the other alone.
Chaotic Evil: Makes Charles Manson look like Mr. Rogers

Weapon of choice
There are WAY too many weapons to list. So, use your imagination (Or a D&D ,manual) and choose a weapon.
Combinations: Single-hand weapon. S-H + Sheild, 2x Single-hand (L, R), Two-handed weapon
Weapon Size: Tiny (Dagger) Small (Short sword) Medium (Long sword) Large (Two handed battleaxe)

Armor of choice: Real simple, what you want your character to wear.
Light armor, Medium Armor, Heavy armor, formal outfit, wizard robe, elaborate outfit, etc. Free-for-all, i'll design it with the game toolset.

Spells of choice
Again, too many to list. If you don't know any D&D spells, just list a spell element that i can work with
Damage, Illusion, Trickery, Summoning, Healing, Necromancy (death), Mutation, Protection

Profession: If you can think of a special skill you want your character to have (Theif, Judge, Chef, Army commander) List it, i'll work it into the game.

Description: Anything specific you want you character to have. A certain hairstyle, facial features, height, weight, etc. Post an MSpaint drawing if you want. This will help design the outline and equiptment for the character.

If you don't want to participate, Don't post anything. Posting "Blah blah blah D&D sucks" is a waste of your/my time.

Thank you.

Also, For the Clan Rank, don't put anything, i will fill that out. With the clan i am creating, Each member will have a specific ranking class and official job. Allows for diversity and maximum range of abilities

When i started this thing back in 2003, i had 60 members that all did the same thing. Hack, and slash.

Awesome ideas. I have a few created now, i need about 80 more (It's going to be a long night...)
Any pirate-style characters would be great. The clan/game i'm working on is based on pirates, ships, etc. Any/all ideas, post it.

I can't tell you the name of the clan, or information regarding the structure, i risk getting my ideas stolen.

I've never played D&D, so bare with me please.

Name: Aaron Sandalphon

Race: Aasimar

Class(es): Paladin

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Clan Ranking:[unknown]

Weapon(s) of Choice: Double Bladed Bo Staff

Armor of Choice: Light/ Medium Armor; Mainly white, with black and gold lining.

Spell(s) of Choice:[example(s) in description]

Profession: [example(s) in description]

Description:
Aaron Sandalphon was born as half man, half angel, when his human father met and fell in love with a beautiful Angel. His status as a half breed denied him access to heaven, only being allowed to walk the grounds of the mortal realm. Over his life time, he became obsessed with trying to "perfect his other half". He quickly became fascinated with Paladins, and became one himself. Being of partial angel decent, he quickly became famous for his abilities of healing and combat.

In attempts to better himself, he trained rigorously in numerous martial arts to aid in his already agile abilities. He's a strong caster, capable of doing large amounts of damage in little time. His human side doesn't give him nearly as much access to the light powers of an actual angel, so his powerful attacks and healing powers are limited in large battles. To make up for his weakness, he uses speed and his skills with his Double Bladed Bo Staff to deal with his enemies.

I hope that's enough information. Took a little bit to contemplate his name and some of his abilities. I might specify more. How was that?

Awesome work, and here he is! (Fighting a goblin off screen...)

I'll tweak his armor appearance, and add wings too. Keep the ideas coming, this is really helping out!

Need to change his weapon a bit though ^_^

It's a bo staff (so basically a long straight stick) with two blades on each end. I'm not sure if it's in the game, but a spear,
naginata, or just a plain bo staff works as well :)

You play rouge games don't you? DON'T YOU!

I typically play ADOM

Well if you plan on it being fun do not make it too hard to understand, which is why no one plays D&D because it sound weird.

My friendship making skill. 18 [1D, 2, -8]

It never works out for me with NPCs.

The best part about playing Neverwinter Nights, everything is simplified. All you do is click, and kill. With the server i'm creating, players who join the clan, will be given a blueprint of the character they will make, that's it. Then all they have to do is follow orders, kill stuff, etc. Table-top D&D is where it gets weird and frusterating, but playing online, it's a lot of fun.

That's the plan. By creating a multiplayer / single player game, with a deep storyline and fully customized items, characters, monsters etc, i can sell my creation to Bioware, and they can mass produce, and sell it. (They did the same thing with "The Witches Wake" and "Kingmaker")

To give you an idea of how large this game is, here's the basics (in basic terms)
+300 areas (maps)
5,200 custom made weapons, armor sets, and equipment items
700 unique NPC's
+100 custom designed monsters and hostile/friendly creatures
3 clan organizations, that players can join, and operate.
Deep role-playing storyline, that i call "The 12 Towers"
15 City locations, 20 towns, and 300 shops

I started this back in 2003. Once i get my new computer, i'll be able to post it online.
