It looks good but the type could use some more work, simply because the inner glow or satin effect that you've got inside the letters looks poor, it would have looked better as pure white.
Well apart from the fact that it isn't a cover (just the front), it looks great, but I'm not too sure about how well it tells me what kind of band it is/how the album sounds like.
Also, the border and font effect you have looks pretty cheap, I'd try something different with them.

I tried it with pure white and I thought it stood out too much oh and its not a glow or satin its just the silver gradient overlay with about 30% opacity
Also, it is pretty damn mainstream. Has that feeling of "damn, I spent all my money on photoshop I gotta do justice and use all my filters for no reason, quick lets go to free-tutorials.com", the idea for the CD-cover is just, boring and overdone. Presents the bands as nothing out of the ordinary which wouldn't make me wanna buy the album.
Sorry man, I'm harsh when it comes to this.

I have the same feelings.
It IS a great photoshop job, but it just doesn't pop out to me as a CD cover. I wish I could give suggestions, but I don't know enough about the band or even CD covers in general. The only thing i'd suggest working on is the text and maybe the boarder, the text just doesn't flow with the design you have going on in the background. Looking at the CD's I have in my drawer, all geared towards death metal, utilize text that flows with the design of the background (in particular, the 2 cd's in my hand are by Cradle of Filth, "Lovecraft & Witch Hearts" album and the "Thornography" album).
What I feel like saying is that the text is too clear, and too in-focus, while the background is more of a grunge style.
I would suggest putting something that more represents the band as a whole the band is not just corey. So putting just him on the cover will single it out and give you less of a chance perhaps put another random image in the eye rather than him singing

Nice! You did a good job on the cover. Would you mind linking to the other contest entries, or even the contest? I'm curious about who won first place and such...
