They receive a bonus to their saving throws. They are immune to fear and all forms of disease. They know when evil is near and from where it approaches from.

That's cool man. He would be a great asset to a pirate crew. The ability to smite evil. Wait, doesn't that mean he would have to be a priest? Priests and Pirates don't usually get along, and you would probably frown upon some of our pirate activities.
