Ok i have been downloading music soundtracks and stuff like that for a while (All legal, soundtracks are really cheap on official sites and have better quality than those fake ones on the internet, trust me)

And i have a good collection of epic (E: Lord of the rings) music that could be used in flash or could give ideas to you:

The Battle - The Chronicles of Narnia - Awesome piece, its really really good- by Harry Gregson Williams

The Battle of Kerak- Kingdom Heaven- You can hear this tune in Neenja parts 3 and 4- also by Harry Gregson Williams

Blood Ravens Aproach (this is actually free)- Warhammer 40k- Jeremy Soule

Battle Forest Boss - Neverwinter Nights- very good- Jeremy soule

Main Theme- Guild Wars- Jeremy Soule

Mission 18:Zero-Ace Combat Zero- Master Piece- I dont know who

Helms Deep- Lord of the rings:The Two Towers

The Hornburg- Lord of the rings:The Two Towers

The Elf parade (shorter version of The Hornburg)

Battle Heroes (AKA A hero falls)-Star Wars Episode III- John Williams- MUSTAFAR! YEAH XD

Return of the Jedi End Theme- Star Wars Episode VI - John Williams - The best victory song to be created

Chariots of Fire-Chariots of Fire- I Dont Know- Well Known music, not epic actually but really familiar.

(Thats the music they use when someone runs on slowmotion on a Marathon or something like that, never seen the movie though)

I hope this is helpful to you Animators, and gives ideas to you composers.

NOTE: Most of these songs are trademarks of their respective movies/games

thanks

Yes i know those songs are cool

but epic music is classical or easy listening

of course eye of the tiger is a great song

though im not familiar with iced earth

i mean, iron maiden does great skirmish, duel, gory battle music, but the battle music im refered is Epic battle music, liek lord of the rings

anyway, feel free to add epic music to the list

I think he was referring to epic orchestral music. Usually when people use the term "epic music" they're talking about full rich scores performed by philharmonic orchestras.

Just a bit of a musically cultural difference, I guess.

highly understandable. but nevertheless, epic music can be made in any genre.

as for epic classical type orchestra music:

dimmu borgir - fear and wonder

dimmu borgir - perfection or vanity

emperor - al svartr (the oath)

emperor - the wanderer

emperor - opus a satana

just cause it has screamin' guitars and is played by a black metal band doesn't make it any less orchestral, classical, or epic. seriously check those songs out. especially the empreror ones.

MHB, I wasn't nullifying your statement. I was just pointing out the common association with the term "epic music".

Since where all seem to be on the metal topic, I actually find To Bid You Farewell by Opeth to be pretty epic. Especially when the guitars come in around the end. Makes me want to go punch someone.

okay.

It's true the new Iced Earth Album is the most epic album released in at least 10 years, by definition of the word epic. Great list btw, all of them.

Marilyn Manson = the suck. Best song ever is Blue Monday by New Order. A classic.

Look for Cyclone Escape on Flash Flash Revolution within the next few months (and maybe a couple other songs too)!
