I know, I have no morals I have to fight over, I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Oh, but here´s a thing I need discussing.

How do you feel that the main character never says anything like a mute and just hops along?

With silent protagonists it´s easier to feel into the game.

But... what about all those scenes of potential badass replies where you just hear... nothing.
The BoF games all had mute mains, it never bothered me.

It's bullshit and annoying. One of my biggest pet peeves with video games.

Hardly, I played Chrono Trigger, and I didn't feel like I was some dull red haired Goku wannabe.

To me it's the by-product of lazy writing, and it needs to stop.

True, but in some cases it still requires a speechless hero.

Lloyd, for instance, from ToS.
Just that he DID talk.

Plus, with newer games, the muteness is going out of fashion.

the silent protagonist are the most badass, they dont fuck up a moment with righteousness rants and they surely dont need to have vocals to let people they mean business.

I really do enjoy good old GBA and SNES games.

BoF 2 had some nice 8bit Music for its time.

Hey there. I'll join. My favorite RPGs are Paper Mario 1 and 2. I'm also a fan of Guardian's Crusade for the PS1. I want to get Morrowind. My least favorite RPG is modless Oblivion on the console, but I'm sure fun will be endless with mods. I always thought that Diablo was an MMO since it was made by Blizzard, and so I avoided it since I don't like most MMORPGs. but now, after seeing the video for Diablo 3, I really want to get it. It looks very exciting. And I hope that if there's a PM4, it will revert to the way it was with the first two, I haven't played the third, but I don't think I'll like it as much as the other two, there's enough Mario platformers already. Oh, and I also like Skies of Arcadia Legends for the GC. But the only RPG I own instead of rented was Oblivion, which was a mistake. I should've got it for the PC.

Any of you hear of the new Tales in for the DS? GT page thingy.

I haven't played Tales of Symphonia or any Tales game, for that matter, so I'm trying to decide whether to get Tales of Symphonia that was on the Gamecube, or just get the new one for the Wii when it comes out.

Also, I like the following RPGs-

Paper Mario trilogy (although one's technically a cross breed)
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga
Baten Kaitos
Legend of Zelda
Final Fantasy (Well, just the ones I have....3 (DS) and 4 (GBA))

Of course, I'd like to play Eternal Sonata or a Persona game, but I don't own a 360 or Playstation 2, so I'm sort of blown, there.

I have nothing to say that is at all relevant.

Kuro, you don't know much of anything about RPGs until you buy a PS2, that's the console that the best RPGs are for.

If you want a good DS RPG, try The World Ends With You.

You can join.

If you have enough cash, get Tales of Symphonia first. Actually, just get that first.
It is important you do so, you need to know the characters for ToS 2.
Or you'll be playing it and not knowing who they are and such.

Also, I like the following RPGs-

Good Lord, don't remind me of that game. I want to have it again so much, but there's no hope of getting it anymore.

Unless I get my ass on Ebay and actually look.

Yup.
Which ones.

The ones I have are-

Legend of Zelda(GBA)
Oracle of Seasons & Ages
Link to the Past
Four Swords Adventure (Although that was more designed as a party game...)
Minish Cap
Ocarina of Time (Master Quest Edition)
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Phantom Hourglass

I like Ocarina of Time the most, a little because it's also the only version I have in which you can get the Biggoron Sword (Technically, you can get it in Oracle of Ages & Seasons, but that requires link codes). I love swinging that huge hunk of steel around.

I also think Minish Cap was masterfully done. unlike the Oracle games, it actually had a proper ending.

Phantom Hourglass is great, but it's too short in my opinion...

Twilight Princess and Wind Waker were both excellent, but for some reason, I don't like either as much as Ocarina of Time. It's unexplainable.

Also, Pokemon's an RPG, so that's another one I like. It isn't very difficult, but it is fun. The core games, at least.

To finish my eternally-stretching post, I'll ask this question-

If you were the story writer of an RPG, how would you make it vastly different?

I'd make one where you play as the technical "bad guys", and end up killing all the heroes, then realizing the folly of your party's ways, then ending up having to slaughter everything but the last remnants of humanity that have been turned against you.

Or, you just kill everything, then kill yourself and your party, rendering civilization nonexistent. That'd be a vastly "what the fuck" ending.

I have nothing to say that is at all relevant.

kinda like yours, main character is a badass warrior who decides to retire from his duties and ends up getting caught into a revenge trip which ends up as a crazy conspiracy involving him killing the same monster he helped some hero seal up.

he's badass legendary and he knows more stuff unlike many protagonist that are actually geographically challenged.
