Are you talking about the 3d type sprites used in Super Duper Mario 2 (New super Mario Bros)?

No I want 2d sprites. Anyway I did notcie the other guys link but I've already tried their. The sprites are too small

to goet rid of the coloured all you have to do is import it then put it on your stage then, before you modify it click Modify>Bitmap>Trace Bitmap then you can select the background and delete it.

it depends on the settings that you trace it with. if yuo want it the same put it to these settings
colour threshhold: 0
Minimum area: 1 Pixels
curve fit: Pixels
Corner threshold: Many Corners
