By my guess, only the first's reuploaded blammed content - the other two probably aren't, given we haven't been given an obit for either.

There is copyright on everything that you create. I have copyright on this post. Whether the artist in question has permitted free use of the song in question is a different matter entirely.

Lies.

You have to file & claim a copyright with the government.

In the case of the EGB/NG mods, that'd be taking down submissions with copyrighted music (ie. against the rules), whilst leaving up others. Or speedpaints, etc.

It can be viewed as a form of double standards, or favouritism if it's a big name doing it as opposed to smaller creators.

I've also seen the phrase "Tom's site" being used as an excuse, even though Tom doesn't seem to be making these calls.

Mainly just clips from The Digital Circus by GLITCH Productions.

Uses recorded footage from other games, like Dreams and Resident Evil 4.

Creating an animation in Dreams is a bit of a grey area IMO, but given its got a clip of an RE4 cutscene in there, "Girlfriend Boeing" is probably flaggable on that.

The other submission's a slam dunk - they just clipped The Amazing Digital Circus and called it a day.

I have a question. Moderators can see whistle points, right? That must mean that they know how many points are required for each whistle. Are they able to interfere with it, or only the bot can hand out whistle points?

By my guess, being able to dick with whistle points is exclusively limited to M-Bot and site staff.

I don't know if anyone saw what user Atlas posted in the Audio Portal Cleanup, basically he listed a bunch of stuff that broke the rules. I checked back later to see if they got deleted, but only some of them were actually deleted, like 3. I checked back later, but still, only 3 of them were deleted, so I started getting anxious about it. Everything was rule-breaking from what he has listed, so I don't know why they didn't get deleted. Does this mean I'm going to lose a lot of whistle points?

Points are hidden, and never discussed, cuz they're hidden. I think admins used to have some indicator, but again, nothing is discussed with general users.

That must mean that they know how many points are required for each whistle.

Nope.

Are they able to interfere with it,

Nope. We don't interfere with your flags, other than to process them.

or only the bot can hand out whistle points?

Points are gained for correct flags, and lost for incorrect ones.

Does this mean I'm going to lose a lot of whistle points?

If you flag based on someone else's posting, you risk losing rank. Do your own work and flag your own stuff. Also, don't post all your flags. People will steal your effort and gain when you're correct. Yes, they lose when you're not correct, but why not make them do their own work.

Whistle status is not designed to be gained quickly. It's not an award to be achieved. It's supposed to be a sign that you know what you're doing and have good judgement, not that you've managed to flag enough of someone else's posts before they got removed. ...or, at least that's how it's supposed to be.

My whistle rank was gained based on my own work. I used to spend hours per day on the site, and because of that, I found lots to flag. I'm proud of my work because I know I earned it. It took me years to achieve. There are many who have a rank they did not earn, and really do not deserve. Do your own work so you can be proud cuz you know you earned it.

1) I want any rulebreaking shit I find off this site as fast as humanly fucking possible. Blammed or taken down, I don't care how - I post shit here to make it happen now.

2) I'm already gaining points when I'm correct - I'd be happy to let people piggyback off my work to gain them faster unless I gain more for being the only person to flag something.

What do you mean process them?

or only the bot can hand out whistle points?
Points are gained for correct flags, and lost for incorrect ones.

Do you gain 1 point per correct flag, and lose 1 per incorrect flag?

Does this mean I'm going to lose a lot of whistle points?
If you flag based on someone else's posting, you risk losing rank.

Could you elaborate what you meant by losing rank? Do you mean because I might flag the incorrect ones that others may be posting? Or will moderators reset / decrease my whistle rank if they catch me do it? I'm a bit confused about this.
