Wired.com posted a link to a news article here. Apparently, the Jewish Defense League has issued a statement about KABOOM, condemning the game and calling for it to be "removed from the market and banned from the Internet. It's an incitement to murder Jews and Israelis."

I hate to say it, but when someone demands a game be "banned from the Internet" it just strengthens my decision to keep it on here. Sorry guys.

Another quotable from the article - "If you want to complain," wrote one, it should be to the Israelis and Palestinians "because they are the ones who have been killing each other for hundreds of years."

You know tom, I love this site and I love that game, but eventually the USA Goverment might find a way to press charges.. cause america is screwy like that some time. i mane that one company sueing the cheese company cause the cows arent happy.. all im saying is make the right moves and treat this all with open ared respect :) Also check out my movie i made for PICO :) took hours of tracing and stuff :)

moo! enough wit the whole "kaboom" thang... there ain't nothing wrong with it except that it's a bit too suicidal and not a good influence on young children... but blah! No young children come in here now do they? and could a palestinian or a izraeli even understand english? how could they get through here and see this and then be automatically offended? And anyway... i've played Kaboom a few times and i look at it and i see no resemblence for it with the whole izraeli thang! if u can make light of suicide bombers than you can make light of anything. i think it says that we are not scared of terrorisim,and that it takes alot more than making yourself look like an idiot by blowing up innocent people to make us give up the freedom that we have fought so hard for.

Oh Tom this is just too great. Newgrounds getting all this media attension free of charge and all. A few things I strongly agree with: first- Freddom of speech. Things can't be banned from the internet. All too true. Look at what was with Napster. Took them years to shut them down. What do we have now? Napster spin offs and more than you can count!!!!! Thing that is disturbing though is that the news people and the congressmen/women are paying so much attension to NG...... WHO'S RUNNING THE COUNTRY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! hehe

When I first started reading about all tha heat Tom and KABOOM were getting (by tha way, I know that Tom didn't make KABOOM, that congress lady seemed to think he did) I thought Tom would give in, but he hasn't, if I had a book, in it Tom would be a bad-ass mutha fugga. I think that if these people are so concerned mayber they should just stop killing each other now I know that might seem a little far fetched, you know, stop bitching at tha people who make games about killing and just stop killing, but it could be possible.

Again, it's just a game, fake not real, with no racisme or whatsoever in it. Some people shouldnt play it, but that is still no reason to ban it. Then they can ban everything, every game or movie with some violence in it. What about nuking an American village with the Russians in red alert? Is that a bad thing to do? Hell no, because it's fake. And without violence in games, the world would become very boring in the end. Seen Demolition Man? Is that a good future?

I come from a Jewish family, and it ashames me to see the JDL (Kind of like the Jewish version of the KKK) making a MOCKERY of my people. I am Pro-Israeli, but i am not pro-censorship. Even when it is offensive to Jews, my people. The JDL is racist to Arabs, and anyone non-jewish.

It is good that Newgrounds gets media attention. But i don't want Tom to spend too much money on legal battles. My father is a lawyer, but i don't think he would be too happy defending a game where you blow up Israelis. Maybe i could convince him, but probably not.

Tom, if this site is EVER in danger of being sued of all it's money, PLEASE GIVE IT UP!!!

Tell them how foolish they look for condemning a game and not CONDEMNING A WAR! C'mon, if you truly want justice, condemn the movies that show Afgans dying as well. They were there first, and longer than that game. I'm sorry, this is only my opinion, and I probably should not be giving any advice on anything, but when a game, music, or movie truly has the ability to make a person shoot up a classroom, rape a girl, make a guy kill his parents, or anything like that, you won't know it. You'll be among those masses killing people.

And if you are worried about the precious families and people who are digging up the joint, why don't you make sure that the families are getting the cash that was generated by the "charitable" orginizations or that those workers get paid extra for doing a "patriotic duty"? I don't think censorship of art is justifyable. I also don't think newgrounds can be punished for showing these works. People come here and whatch these movies and then they get offended... Few things I wanna say bout this:
First: the game sucks. It's popularity has
nothin to do with it's quality. It's not even good.

Second: I hate to say this, but there's a government in Israel who does not allow an UN commission research an alledged massacre among Palestinean citizens, reputedly executed by the Israeli army.
This game is not about "killing Jews". I found this
argument to be misplaced. That's abuse of the old "oh, they're against Israel, so they're against jews, so they're Nazis." argument, nothin else.

Newgrounds is a quaint little commune where many little people of all ages, genders, sizes, races and religions go to express their feelings for the rest of the world to see, no matter what it is... then there's the other stuff, "nothings" if you will, that are just posted cause they look good and have some relevance to things going on outside the internet, which is half porn, and half search engines to find the porn. KABOOM is both "nothing" and "something", it was posted mainly because it looked good, yet also it expresses the feeling of the author, who says that suicide bombers are stupid. It is a pretty fun game though, after I played it I didn't want to go out, with my jacket lined wih dynamite and blow up some people for no other reason than I'm bored or its for my country, it made me think. It's good when stuf makes you think. KABOOM was probably viewed by that congresswoman through her kids or something, kinda like when Tipper Gore heard that one song, Maybe, I don't really know.
On NG they have enough courtesy to give you a brief description of what you're about to watch, don't watch what you might be offended by!

Tom, well done for standing up for what you and most of the Newgrounds community believe in, Freedom of speech and expression.

This is just another case of the media blowing things out of proportion and twisting them completely out of context. They did it with Doom and Marilyn manson for Columbine, They tried to place some blame on Microsoft Flight Simulator for the WTC tragedy FFS. The politicians and media are always looking for someone to blame besides themselves.
