15-4-20 is a one take per track live improvised ambient exploration and the first of its kind in my discography. The entire 33+ minute, 3 track album was recorded on the evening of April 15th 2020 with no overdubs or edits, just a single take for each track. The pre-release single “15-4-20 A” was the first improvisation of the session and was pitched/slowed down 15 semitones from the original recording for a deeper feel. I hope you enjoy the gently changing ambient soundscape; a snapshot of an evening in lockdown during the strange spring of 2020!

We've been hard at work for the last month polishing this and it's been a great project to be a part of! I've been on mastering and additional mixing duties as well as providing the beat to "Away Fear" which was recently (re/pre)released as a full production track (the version in here is more a legacy mix of sorts)! The prospect of 2021 being possibly even more productive somehow seems to border on almost undesirably ambitious productivity levels with possibly senseless; somewhat sleeplessly vexing work ethic style hectic! XD ...but productive in the best ways possible indeed, with priorities in the least tedious of deeds; all performances peachy with seamless ease!

Whatever the dues though definitely looking forward to that collab bit at least! :)

HUGE NEWS: Announcing the Save The Ska Show fundraising compilation album featuring 60 bands including one track by Better Than The Book! Let's save The Ska Show with Beefy! (Releases this Saturday 30th January)

Hi everyone and I have some HUGE news to share with you today! Those of you who've been following Better Than The Book over the past few years have certainly heard of the amazing Ska Show with Beefy, based in Melbourne and proudly the 2nd most listened to Ska music podcast in the world! The show has played a tonne of Better Than The Book since my debut on there in 2019, but with all that's happened over the past year and finances running low, the future of the show is looking uncertain...

But when things are looking dire, people come together, and so Beefy along with 60 ska/skapunk bands/artists around the world (including myself) have put our heads and hearts together to release a 60 track fundraising compilation album to keep the show on the air! There'll even be one BTTB track on there! Which one? You'll have to wait and see! Pre-orders for the album are now open and the album releases this Saturday 30th January! It's been an absolute honour to be part of this fundraising compilation, and if you're a lover of ska music and/or the show, then that's 60 tracks from around the world for as little as 12 Australian Dollars (not even £7), with the option to donate more if you wish. Ah you too, mutual Congratulations on said feature here! :D I feel like it's been at least one or two more than that, but maybe seems like more when I read these posts and newsposts in parallel... hope this trend keeps goin' though, with however few collabs may possibly remain now unmentioned. :)

Hehe :D I think for us from what I recall, it was this one + From Ash To Alabaster, but I've had a few of my own tracks on there too: Mr. Knife, Home (Jabun), and (The Travelling To See Eva Song) (Better Than The Book) (hope I haven't missed one...). Still a chance for one of the Cyberdevil's Backs to appear on there for sure! Indeed hoping the trend keeps going :D Gotta thank The Tank Tribune again!
