Whats so fucking great about this show. I enjoyed the first season for a bit and after that to me its no better than an episode of Family Guy. Not to mention everyone always tells me with a smug tone "A lot of the jokes will go over your heads if youre not smart enough" or some crap

Then again, that's your opinion. I've enjoyed watching this, but this ain't no Batman or Avatar (both the Nick & Peter Jackson versions). It's one of adult swim's best, tbh.

Rick and morty is a great show (not even being sarcastic), my IQ is so high I'm not even influenced by bandwagons for or against it, I just plain like it. Please don't reply unless you can demonstrate your IQ is within +-5 points of mine.
I love the show, but sadly w it became way too popular for its own good and, as stated in this thread, both the fanbase and the "anti-fanbase" (people who care way too much about a show they supposedly hate) are pure cancer.
Btw, I don't think Rick and Morty is a "super smart and deep show" or anything, it's just a fun, self aware cartoon that jokes with its continuity.

There are jokes they outright do, and jokes you have to have noticed or pointed out. Also, they do a good job on connecting the episodes and jokes together to make one elaborate running gag.

Good show. Good writing. But really, like a lot of things, fanbases can kill it. Usually, in most cases, I tend to turn, but RM is one of the few things that I contnue to support, despite fandoms.
Those simpletons who want to spout off some false supremacy for liking a show are extremely misguided. Just because RIck's smart doesn't make you smart. The show presents good writing and well timed jokes -- anybody can enjoy that. No one's superior because they enjoy a media.
It's extremely misguided identity issues that every group suffers from. Unfortuently, Rick and Morty's fanbase suffers from self-importance.
