[NSFW] The Allure of Wanton Cove

Been working on a text based game for about two years now, though production has increased significantly in the last few months.

"This is a lovecraftian horror game. My writing style has little in common with H.P. Lovecraft, so instead I am approaching the story from more of a Noir style. That said, this story is intended to be the same kind of horror. Its meant to capture both the dark and hopeless terror and to share in the Cthuhlu Mythos."

The current game hosts roughly 200k words of content, and receives updates of 5k words or more of content at least once a month. There is some art in the game, however I only recently started commissioning art work for the project so there is not much there yet. More art will be added as I can afford it and it becomes available.

I'm currently hosting the game on Patreon for anyone who is interested, but the game is free to play in its entirety (Game is at about 80% completion) for anyone who wants to give it a try.

New build is ready to go!

What has changed since the last build:
-I think (hope) I finally fixed that incredibly frustrating bug in the Tavern that keeps cropping up.
-New mechanic added to the game called "Madness" that includes a couple of scenes related to it, and the first few NPCs have been updated to include that mechanic.
-New NPC added to the game; Rose Crow. New background added for scenes related to the bad part of town.
-New ending added to the game related to the Madness stat (Is only reachable using the Cheat Menu at this time. This will change as more major scenes related to Madness are added to the game).
-All in all, there is about 6k words of new content in the game bringing the total word count up to about 206k.

Since I have been on vacation the last couple of weeks, this update will be slightly different than most. Instead of a small number of major scenes, this update includes a host of smaller scenes instead.

-Added several new options fo the Cheat Menu, including additional options related to Taint, ability to remove Mutation, and ability to restore your own female virginity.
-Wrote and added 16 new scenes related to the Park. Many of them are dependent on your current state of Madness or what day it is.
-Wrote and added 6 new scenes related to the Cathedral. Many of them are dependent on your current state of Madness.
-Wrote and added 28 new scenes to the Barmaid's Daughter. Many of these scenes are dependent on your current state of Madness, what day it is, or your current state of transformation.
-Wrote and added 5 new scenes for the Church. Three of them are dependent on Madness.
-Updated "Special Thanks" passage with new Patrons at each relevant level. (6/7/17)
-Added three new pieces of art to the game. All three are related to the "High Taint Bad End" and are intended to reflect your current state of Mutation.
-Added about 5k words of new content to the game, bringing the word count up to just a little under 211k words of content.

The next update will see more of these smaller scenes, (And will continue to see the smaller scenes until every major location in the game has at least a few new ambient scenes.) accompanied by a couple of larger scenes again.

I have no hard date for the next update, but I plan to have it out on the 29th - 30th at the latest and if all goes well it could be as soon as the 23rd - 24th. As usual, I will keep you all posted on progress as it happens.

Version .85 of Wanton Cove is live for anyone interested in giving it a play.

The new version includes about 7k words of new content since the last version was made public. Below is links to both the Public (Free) version of the game and the Patreon (Pledge) version of the game. Only difference between them is that the latter has a cheat menu in it that allows you to adjust your stats in the game or add money so you can make the game easier or harder as you see fit.

Got a new build for all of you to enjoy. The build ties up a lot of the loose ends related to some of the features in the game. Several new ambient scenes, one story driven scene, and the ground work for some future content. My hope is to finish up the remainder of the Day 6 content with the next update.

At a text based game, the file size is only about 4mb, and includes a small number of images that appear in the game.

-Rewrote the 4th book entry to reflect "Madness."

-Twelve new ambient scenes on the main street running through town. (Actually, two scenes, but twelve major variants between them.) Some of these are dependant on day, and others are affected by Taint, Madness, or even Depravity.

-Worked through a pile of minor rewrites, spelling fixes, and grammar issues.

-Once you have met the town drunk, he will then appear in The Barmaid's Daughter. Several small scenes have been written for him. More content will be added to him in the future.

-Added about 5k words of content to the game, taking the total up to about 234k.

Multiple bugs were reported after yesterday's release. They were related to the Tavern and the Church. Both sets of bugs seem to be fixed now.

Ok, got another fix for all of you. This one includes a fix for an error that was appearing in the "People" area of the Case Notes, as well as an error that was causing the new Town Drunk NPC's scenes to not display properly.

If anyone sees any additional problems, be they game breaking bugs, to minor spelling errors, or anything in between, please report them! After all, its hard to fix problems you dont know about.

-The usual minor fixes. Dropped everything up to the arrival in Wanton Cove into a spell/grammar checker and made some fixes/adjustments where needed. Also worked through everything but the cheat menu associated with the sidebar. Elsewhere in the story, if I saw it, it got fixed.

-Added a new cheat option for Mutation that does +/-2 and can serve to showcase the new set of TF events related to Mutation.

-Adjusted combat difficulty to make it a little more difficult.

-Unique fight added to the waterfront on day 7. This fight must be triggered before the related enemy starts to appear randomly in the game.

-New enemy added to the game.

-New Enemy scenes added to Forest. 1/6 chance that if there's a fight, it will be this enemy.

-New Enemy scenes added to Main Street. 1/5 chance that if there's a fight, it will be this enemy.

-New Enemy scenes added to the bad part of town. 1/5 chance that if there's a fight, it will be this enemy.

-New Enemy scenes added to the waterfront. 1/3 chance that if there is a fight, it will be this enemy.

-New loss scenes for combat with new enemy.

-Wrote and added new Mutation based Transformation scenes

-New NPC: Lady Anne, has been added to the game. She is not complete yet (She is playable to a point), but the framework has been added to allow for future content to be added.

-Completely rebuilt the code for fight intros. Not only should this fix the combat bugs that were present, but this should also make it easier to work with this code in the future.

-Added about 27k words of new content to the game. This brings the total game size up to about 267k words. Please note that more than half of this new content is tied up in the new TF sequences and fight loss scenes that are largely repeated between more than one location (Some minor rewrites between locations.)

The following fixes should be in place in this build:

-Variant of Cobb's scene on the main street through Wanton Cove for players who had not previously spoken with him did not have a link to progress further in the story. This has been fixed.
-Error that was triggering in the good part of town was related to the new Lady Anne content/ Lady Anne's intro and followup scenes have been completely rebuilt as a random event. (About 1/8 chance of triggering if a random event plays out in that area.) I plan to add the ability to visit her normally in the next major build of the game.
