I made two animations for the first time, and submitted them on the site. After they were under review, it said they were both "blammed". There was nothing wrong with either of them, no misleading tags, no incorrect rating, nothing. The only thing I could think of is that they were low-quality, seeing as they were my first animations. Does anyone have any ideas why?

It also may be that there's some people on this site that just apparently love to to blam stuff...

The movie being "blammed" means the community didn't think the animations where good enough to stay on this site. If the score is under a certain threshold after a set number of votes (don't know the exact values right now), it is removed from the portal automatically.

EDIT:
Movies are deleted if they fall below the listed score at the listed number of votes:

50 votes: 1.0
70 votes: 1.5
90 votes: 1.75

Just keep trying. It's the only way to get better.
And make sure you're not using any copyrighted music.

You're thinking that your animations got removed by the moderation team, but that's not the case. Your movies got blammed, which means that your movies received a poor score by the user base. It's a different kind of removal than when something gets removed by a moderator.

When something gets blammed, it's because it's score was very poor. When something gets removed, it's because it broke one or more rules when it comes to submitting content.

It got a low score. Keep trying dude.

All I can say is to try and take what went wrong, and make improvments on your next submission. Eventually you'll strike on something that works. and when you do, be sure to take note of it.

We have a community-driven approval process for games and movies here on NG, which works through people voting on stuff. When people in general think your submission is awful, and make that feeling known by giving it a low score, it will be removed even if it doesn't break any rules - low quality can be enough of a reason. So think of it as us telling you to improve your animating craft. If your submissions get better, their scores will get better and thus they'll have a higher chance to be allowed to stay.

Change them slightly and submit under a different name. I bet they'll pass this time.

Ah, you are one of the fortunate people to get blammed. Back in Newgrounds' heyday, that was an effective way to weed out bad animation; well, kind of, Honestly, I find it weird that there are so many submissions I feel should be blammed and aren't. However, I may not know quality, just like axman13, but I do think a lot of bad submissions make it throught.

Which begs the question, do we really need that anymore? That was implemented years ago when the flash portal was more active and you had people spamming the portal with garbage, but that's not the case anymore. I would get rid of that now to encourage more activity in the flash portal.
