As the other pointed out, it has a lot to do with the country's wealth and economy. These countries were also hit hard by the affects of the 2008 financial crisis, which only increased corruption, and power grabs by certain individuals or groups.

Democratic governments are largely a western creation going back to the days of Ancient Greece, whereas the Middle East, Africa and most of Asia are used to have strongmen rule over their respective countries/kingdoms. Democratic countries, or at least the more successful ones tend to have strong economies and have a large amount of clout on the world, both in geopolitics and business, so it only makes sense that there would be more affluence to go around.

Going back to the strongman rule, the main reason who democratic governments have failed or are shaky in Africa and Asia is because democratic rule is hard to implement when things like poverty, warlords and corruption are so commonplace, they are often looking for quick fixes instead of playing the long game politically. With the exceptions of post WW2 Japan, South Korea, India and maybe a few others, a stable democratic government isn't exactly commonplace, and even those countries had a lot of growing pains to get there.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
