My 24th birthday is coming up (2/21) and as someone who always has had to suffer through some crazy snowstorm on her birthday, this has led to some interesting parties. I've enjoyed birthday parties at bowling alleys, roller rinks, restaurants, and house parties. It always usually involves someone getting their car stuck somewhere due to the amount of snow, or individuals not being able to come because of the bad weather.

All I want to do this year is eat some vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and drink champagne tbh.

Looking back on your years of life, what was your favorite birthday/birthday party & why?

I haven't had an actual party since highschool. I've only got like two friends irl so the parties always ended up being coordinated by my mom who'd invite a bunch of my estranged cousins over. Super awkward.

For my 22nd I just called up my 2 friends and went to my favorite ramen bar downtown. They gave me a green tea brownie on the house but I gave it to one of my buddies.

When I was about 12-13, a friend of my parents had a 16th birthday for their daughter. They rented out a building in this sport and playground place in the woods; I spent the day running around and exploring.

As far as my own birthdays, I never had a birthday party exempt once when I was about 6; I can't really remember it.

never had one
never really went to any either cuz no friends for the most part, the couple of rare instances when I did get an invite it was to go to the summer home of a rich kid in my class, essentially everyone just went to the pool, sang happy birthday and hung out there while I stayed indoors and just watched TV with two maids

My 23rd birthday was mostly me being at home, alone in my room. Later my friends dropped by for a quick visit, gave me a big beer can and said "we're on a rush, got to go".

I had cake... well, at least this time they visit me, oh and the beer was kinda nice too.

I usually celebrate it with friends, it's not really a big deal. The best thing you can get for your birthday with friends like mine is weed, which is more than enough btw. A birthday is not that important if you think about it

I read "Birthday Panties" by mistake and was immediately disappointed with this thread.

Typing of disappointment, I told the decorator to do whatever she felt like to my cake. Any kind of iciing. Any colors. Any flavor of cake. So, I bought the cake, took it home, and ate it by myself over the course of roughly two days. It's a tradition I started four years ago, and the decorators seem to enjoy making my cake as hideous as possible before I arrive to get it. One told me it's depressing to see a man buy his own birthday cake. Then, she handed me this.

Why would I want that? I told her to do anything she wanted, and she enjoyed throwing everything at it. Well, everything edible that one might associate with a simple birthday cake. I didn't find nails or anything like that... though I did pick up a bucket of fried chicken once from that store and I guess someone thought it would be funny to sprinkle pennies all over the food then put the lid back on it.
