Oh and apparently some of these websites are blocked in most middle eastern countries, perhaps even all. They're ashamed of what they've done and yet they still do it.

Go through the history of the Catholic Church, go look up Christian terrorism, Jewish terrorism, etc.
It's not hard to go make up some fun graphics to point out the worst of any group, race, religion, etc that you want. No religion is really a "religion of peace", even the Buddhists have extreme branches. Whenever there is passionate belief, there is the possibility that the passion turns dark and evil. Those people should be stamped out, and their evil stopped. But to act like they represent the entirety of a belief system? Nah, I'm not there, feels too much like a betrayal of the things I was raised to believe in.

From the Catholic perspective, some were yes. But it was almost always a case of the Christian West deciding that the Muslims in the East in The Holy Land shouldn't be there, and that Rome should be able to reclaim control over that area.
