I think most Holocaust deniers claim that the reported number of Jews killed was grossly overstated and that the true number didn't even break 1 million I think? I don't know what their actual figures are but they claim that there was some sort of Jewish conspiracy to inflate the number reportedly killed to make people sympathize with the Jews more easily, which led to the Jewish community being able to infiltrate all levels of business across the globe or some shit like that. It's honestly kind of fascinating to read about some of these theories.

Why do you think one event in particular is above everything else and does not merit any criticism or skepticism? It isn't illegal to think the world is flat and question those who believe it's round so why is even discussing the Holocaust's veracity such a taboo to everyone? If it really is around a million that died instead of six, literally nothing would change in regards of our sympathy to the victims and the impact it had in our world.

Now, if they were to say that only 10,000 were dead or something in that ball park, while I would not agree with it, the argument at least holds some weight because the impact wouldn't be as powerful.

There's a bigger difference between 1.000.000 and 6.000.000 than between 10.000 and 1.000.000. So if 10.000 compared to 1.000.000 isn't as bad then why would 5 million more people being killed not make a difference to you? That's considerably more people
