I was just screwing around with the idea of a video scrubber that looks like a little tank leaving a trail. Wondering if that would be distracting / obnoxious... Although the scrubber does vanish when you mouse away...
Thinking the tank would have to be a little bigger and better than this but does this have a certain charm?

As long as it's only a silhouette shape I'm fine with it, don't think it's an eyesore.
It could be that size and only enlarge when the mouse hovers over to it.

We use a third party publishing system for the rich text editor in blogs and their next version will have full mobile support - when that happens we intend to plug it all in to our system. Our front end of blogs / user pages will be mobile friendly in the near future so hopefully the two updates can converge sooner than later.
