Who do you think is the best video game hero? Tell us why. Remember, there can only be one.
~Mario: People often downplay him and act like the only thing he has accomplished is saving Princess Peach hundreds of times, but in reality Mario has liberated several lands from Bowser or another tyrannical presence. Besides the Mushroom Kingdom he has saved Sarasaland, Dinosaur Land, Isle Delfino, The BeanBean Kingdom, The Sprixie Kingdom, Rogueport, and even the entire freaking Galaxy... twice. (Three times if you want to count the events of Super Paper Mario.)
Heck, he's even saved gaming in general. (Well... in North America at least, Japan and Europe were still doing well during the great crash of '83-- but that's still a pretty impressive feat. ) His determination and willpower is certainly admirable to say the least.

~Zero: The ending of MegaMan Zero 4 honestly solidifies him as a more impressive hero than X or even classic MegaMan IMO.

Mario has a very detailed and strong resume.

Mario did save gaming with his appearance on the classic NES.

smt is a series with a different protagonist/world in almost every iteration. demifiend is a highschooler who survives an apocalypse and is infected with a parasite that gives him the body of a demon.
