So I currently want to start animating, but i'm kind of new to flash. I did a test and animated it at 1280x720 for youtube, and then converted the swf with swivel to a .mp4, and then put it sony vegas pro 12 and rendered it at 1080p(into an mp4 again). However, the quality still didnt look as good as others cartoons. I'm curious what I should do to get the very best quality for my cartoons? I want to upload them to both newgrounds and youtube. ALSO, im using adobe flash cs6 (probably doesnt matter but thought id state it)
What I do is animate in flash with 1280x720, then go into swivel and change it to 1920x1080, and make sure to press stretch to fit, make sure! Then edit.

This. Always this. Up-rezing your work in any capacity will lower the quality so you might as well animate big.

Actually, re-sizing swf files in swivel won't lower their quality because flash is a vector based program, you can screw with the drawings as much as you like and they'll retain their quality... Don't animate big in flash because it'll start screwing with you, vector objects take up a lot of ram so animating in a smaller resolution and then re-sizing it in swivel is the best option...
What made his work loose quality is Sony Vegas, trust me I'm talking from experience...
