I want to make some nice 8 bit toms for my track. I was wondering if you guys have any tips on making some?
I know its usually some kind of pitch bend envelope going on but i wanna nail them. Heres an example in this track at around 0.26 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DcxXU5bmjE

yea it's just a kinda long pitchbend on a triangle wave. use medusa2 for the legit NES triwave in a VST, although idk

p.s. i am gay

I got it quite close using massive, https://www.4shared.com/file/hpvnIxSBba/8bit_tom.html
its just a case of tweaking the envelopes to taste. Bit crusher helped too.

wtf why would you use massive to make such a simple sound

it's literally 1 oscillator with a pitchbend you can do it with anything

Just use the 3x Oscillator Plugin. I mean, you literally select the wave legnths and you get so many options for the sound. And Im pretty sure you can edit the envelope for that plugin as well.
