Help! Computer Battery Died 2015-11-26 14:54:17

So hey guys, I have an HP Pavilion All-in-One PC Model: 23-go13w anyways, I was in the middle of a skype call and playing World Of Warcraft when my computer battery decided to call it quits and just randomly shut down on me. Every time I plug the AC Adapter into the wall, the battery box beeps at me.

Anyways, I live in Ottawa, Canada and was wondering (since I am terrible at this sort of thing) if anyone could steer me in the right direction to finding a replacement?

Thanks in advance NG!

:D

Take the battery out and then run the laptop straight from the cord.

I thought I mentioned it was an All-in-One PC and even gave the specific model. =[

Do what @Painbringer said.

Then search Amazon for a replacement battery. The part number should be in the manual.

I tried. You weren't being very clear.

the battery box beeps at me

You mean the AC adapter beeped at you? You said battery box. An AC adapter is not a battery box.

Yes, the 90w AC adapter beeps at me. The only source of power to my ALL-IN-ONE (monitor is computer) computer.

Type HP Pavilion All-in-One PC Model: 23-go13w battery into Google
Type HP Pavilion All-in-One PC Model: 23-go13w battery into Amazon
Type HP Pavilion All-in-One PC Model: 23-go13w battery into NewEgg

I've tried all that, all I get is results for the PC it'self, which I obviously already have. I just need the fucking power supply, and it does not fucking show up! I keep getting "Universal AC Adapters" and the whatnot, but seriously, would trust one from HP as I know for certain it should work on my PC

What the hell is NewEgg? I live in Canada and don't want to wait for fucking shipping!.

Ohhhhh. You should have said so. This is an easy fix.

First of all, if this computer is less than a year old or so, you need to call HP and tell them to send you a new AC adapter. Don't let them give you any shit, either. I have AC adapters that are decades old and still work. There's absolutely no excuse for it to fail so early.

Otherwise, you will need to find a replacement. Look on the back of the adapter. There should be spec list. Look at the output section. Find the voltage (ie. 12.6V), the current output (ie. 5.2A), and the polarity (pic).

Now you need to find a replacement. The voltage should be a match (12.6V = 12.6V), the current output should be the same or higher (5.5A > 5.2A), and the polarity should be the same. If the polarity is center-positive like in the example pic then you shouldn't have any trouble because that's the standard. If it's center-negative then that means that HP hates you and it will be harder to find a matching adapter.

I have found http://www.amazon.com/UpBright®-Replacement-Pavilion-23-g013w-All-In-One/dp/B00N5DXG5A

But don't really want to wait the fucking weeks it will take to get delivered. Considering my WoW subscription is also currently running!

Okay, so I see that polarity, doesn't say anything but just shows it. under says PA-1900-31HA
It's 90 watts

Watts doesn't matter. Voltage, current, and polarity matter.

Voltage should be the same. Current should be the same or higher. Polarity should be the same.

Majority of this is in freaking chinese I can't read it, doesn't Specify what polarity as I said (just shows the insignia)

ok input: 100-240v ~ 50-60hz 1.4A
output: 19.5v -- 4.62A

Also after looking up online these fucking AC Adapters only last about 6 months!

OK. So 19.5V, 4.62A+, and a matching polarity symbol. That's all you need to know.

19.5V is sort of an awkward number so you might have trouble finding it. You can probably get away with 19V or 20V. Check your manual.

For the current, if possible, try to get higher than required for increased reliability.

I'm not sure why you were told that these adapters only last 6 months, though. They should last much longer than that.

Just was reading reviews. I mean, I always keep my computer on too 24/7 so that could be a reason as to why as well. Everything was running smoothly until it randomly shut off. I thought the power had gone out, then I heard the AC Adapter start to fucking beep at me, and was like "What the hell".

Anyways, I am still unsure how to check the polarity. Mainly because it does not specify. Just shows the line symbol but does not SAY what it is.

but if the output is 20 I would be alright as long as the input is the same, correct?
input ranges from 100-240v

*Edit, also lost the manual. So don't got one of those currently handy!

Still shouldn't break. Unless you keep it under a pile of clothes or something else which impedes heat dissipation.

This is center-positive. Notice that the positive is in the center.

The input isn't important in this case. 100-240V means that it's suitable for both 'Murrica and 'Yurop outlets.

Look at the output instead.

Find the manual online.

you think that would work for my PC?

Hmmm, I think it is also positive polarity. This is the PC I have:

I've already done 99% of the work for you. If you want to verify any of this then you can do so on your own. You have the entire Internet at your disposal and you can do anything with it from learning how to identify AC-DC adapters to communicating with retailers from thousands of miles away to watching Brazillian fart porn because you're bored of helping people on the Internet.

Listen, I just don't want to go spending $30.00 which might not seem like a lot but is for a student, with almost NO money eating Ramen Noodles everyday to get through!

I don't want to buy some shit, then have them say no return policy shit in Canada is a lot more wack than the states.

Simple questions, my DESKTOP computer will use a "LAPTOP" AC Adapter.

You can understand my hesitation, if not - you cannot distinguish certain WORDS!

I tried a replacement ac adapter, the back light turns on (blue/white) but the power to the computer itself will not turn on. What could be the issue?
