Not 100% sure on this, but I'm fairly sure somewhere encoded in the female DNA is the natural reaction to 'cry' mostly to acquire attention and as a sign for them to be comforted and consoled by another person whereas men usually only cry when in severe physical pain and at times deep emotional pain,not necessarily to be comforted, but just as an outlet from mental tension
Just like women are more likely to scream when in danger compared to the male specie,some females are more likely to cry in certain situations based on my observations
