To OP concerning the old level icons- the only shitty thing about the level system back then was Pimp throwing the xp curve. Besides that... In a strange way I kinda have to agree with you.
Although the 60 level icons of today are very well drawn, beautiful even, the old icons just kinda fit Newground's style more. Idk why, I could NOT explain that to you if I tried, it's an argument of synesthesia/qualia.

Ever since the redesign where they got rid of the bigger weapon icons...I've found myself completely unmotivated to vote daily. Because of that, I haven't reviewed, played, or watched much since then.
Perhaps it aligned with a shift in priorities for me at the same time. Maybe its because of my age, and I don't have the time I used to. It could be any number of things.
But on-topic? I feel ya, OP. I miss those icons too. I miss that art.

I miss my gauntlet, wasn't the level 24 the yellowish one with brown leather straps? It looked nice.
As for the older icons, I miss them a lot, they almost meant something, these new icons are lame, small and just look boring. But we have discussed this many times by now.
Hopefully the next re-design, if it ever happens, will return the older icons.

What does throwing the XP curve mean? I have noticed that certain people have XP with the last digit not being a zero, what is up with that?
Also why did the icons change?

Change was necessary because every time Pimp deposited, the xp requirement for all of the levels rose as well. levels 1-9 all had something like 50 points between them, and then level 10 required a jump from (and this is an estimate based on memory) 450xp -1,410 experience. 10 to 11 was something like 1410 to 2800, and it kept getting worse the more Pimp deposited, so something had to be done.
Honestly the system we have now is great, it increases by about 20 each level and that's more than fair, but I wouldn't mind another change in icons just to make things interesting again.
Some of them look great and some look horrible.
The 2007 level icons were the best though.
I hope they come up with bigger or more customizable level icons for the 2017 redesign.

The '07 redesign was my favorite. Everything seemed so neat and orderly with just the weapon ranks, almost military. Or kind of like you were playing one of those early internet games that were entirely numbers driven and had zero graphics. Personalized user icons are dookie.
