Yesterday I went to Detroit and I overheard two people at Meijers saying that anime is for nerds. From the foul language they were using is was clear that they meant both "anime" and "nerd" in a bad way. If you're wondering, one of the two people was black and the other looked Irish.

Depends on the anime. Most times though, I have a hard time telling if it itself is "nerdy" or the nerds who already watch anime dominate the fanbase.

Nah. If you obsess over anime it doesn't make you nerdy, it makes you an otaku or weeaboo. If you're a casual anime viewer, then it doesn't make you nerdy either

But more importantly, and more generally, it would fall under the umbrella term "geeky" rather than "nerdy". Many nerds are also geeks but not all geeks are nerds. Also an otaku or weeaboo would be a kind of geek but not all geeks are otaku or weeaboo. Draw up Venn Diagrams if it helps.

Geeky -- Fictional obsessions
Nerdy -- Scholarly obsessions

Star Trek dude = geek. Star Trek dude who can also speak fluent Klingon = geek and nerd.

Nerds are smart. Geeks don't have to be.

Anime itself is not necessarily nerdy. The collective thought on what is "cool" or "stylish clothing choice" in the anime community is extremely nerdy though. In the adult world it is off putting in matters of relationships or sexual congress.

This is kind of odd because no one has directly told me that I was a nerd or heard that anime was geeky to me, even when I wear my anime t-shirts around, in fact I get a lot of compliments when I do so. Part of it may be because I don't really look like a stereotypical geek which allows me to blend in much better, which a lot of my other contemporaries don't really do that good of a job doing.

These days, it seems like geek culture is in vogue, or at least not shunned as much as it was in the past, though that's mostly because the reality is the disdain for geek culture was largely exaggerated by Hollywood and pop culture in general, and once people realize that "geeky" activities were enjoyed by regular people, (even if they didn't quite understand the medium) then the stereotype pretty much got downplayed and even discouraged, though segments of the Internet hasn't gotten that memo it seems.

Every time I've watched anime it's made me feel like I have some form of autism. It's no secret that a lot of people who are obsessed with anime have pretty severe autism, and the reason why is because of how easy it is for autistic people to understand it.

I don't know, I just hate the feeling I get when I watch anime. I love the art style, and hentai is one of my favorite forms of porn, but anime itself just makes me feel really uncomfortable. I guess it's because I'm very socially adept, I understand social situations really well, having them broken down into such a base form like anime does makes me feel like I'm being spoon fed and I don't like that.

Contrary to popular belief, having a high IQ doesn't necessarily mean you have high intelligence. Your IQ score only really reflects your academic progress (and even then, the accuracy is questionable). There's a good article about that here.

Also, if you're so intelligent then why can't you learn something as simple as how to build your own pc? I learned how to do that when I was like 13... Took me less than an hour to figure it out. I'd expect someone with "high intelligence" to be able to pick something like that up pretty easily and not make up excuses for why they they can't do it.

I said credible sources. You listed someone's Deviantart profile, a Reddit page and a series of random JPEGs you found using Google image search. A credible source would be something like an academic study published by actual researchers, not random stuff you found Googling the phrase "weeaboo."
