rip iwata, me and my brothers grew up on kirby dreamland and superstar. they were fantastic games
It's all too hard to believe. Rest in peace, Iwata. Nintendo Directs will never be the same.
Oh hai.
Rest in peace Mr. Iwata. You will never be forgotten for all that you have done.
I surely didn't expect it, either. He certainly gave me a Wii bit of satisfaction for my middle school years.
Also,
Does anybody know what his favorite game was? I can't find an answer on the Google.
I first heard about this on Neogaf about an hour or so ago, but man, I'm still reeling. It's awful. Rest in peace, Iwata.
Never forget guys. He worked at HAL labs on some early Pokemon games and a lot of the games that influenced our childhoods.
He was always the best boss out of every game ;_;7
I can't believe he's really gone.
R.I.P Iwata, you were truly a inspirational game developer for many.
Just read about this. Extremely saddened by this. 55 is way too young to be passing away in this day and age. All we can do now is look back and smile at the happy memories that he was a part of as an employee of Nintendo.
I'm personally grateful that he was able to work on Earthbound and Balloon Fight. Those were both really well done games that brought me a lot of happiness.

I will always look at bananas in a different light, as a fruit of fun.
It is very upsetting, being someone who truly cared for people having fun with games. Jim Sterling made a video about his passing which would do far more for saying how great he was than I would be able to do.
It really is a shame that he had to die at such a relatively young age...
Rest in peace Satoru Iwata, you will be dearly missed.
He's rescuing princesses and stomping on goombas in the afterlife now.
Bout time he died. Just made a bunch of jackasses who keep saying Nintendo has the best games in the world.

Oh but that place actually doesn't exist.
Where he'll go to is being remembered by the people who cared about him
To me he was the guy who spoke in stilted English to introduce/announce nintendo things.
I always figured having someone who spoke like that was PR-related.
Think positively: gamer heaven will be less lonely now. This will mean something to us sooner or later.

He is the only company President that I ever cared about.
Passed way too soon, but without a doubt lived a great life.
Rest in peace.
He was one of the big game devs who helped develop Kirby...
He will be missed
If it helps, someone made a remix of Pokemon's "Unwavering Emotions" dedicated to him, and then someone else extended it.

The world will need to find the next video game creating genius.
I found it very endearing to see how many people showed their respect on the Miiverse when Satoru Iwata's death was announced. He will surely be missed, no matter what: he had such a positive impact on the company and is responsible for giving many of Nintendo's fans as much enjoyment as they had. He also had a very humble attitude and a fantastic sense of humour.
We understood.
