Animators Wanted

Hello, I'm Steven LaVey, a writer from the North-East of England. I'm not unfamiliar with New Grounds, although it has been some years since I last regularly frequented this site.

I am currently looking for collaborators to animate some of my short stories, which were recently published in my new book SHORTS.

I have several stories for consideration, varying in length from very short (a simple, few hundred word scene) to full-length short stories (2000-5000 words.)

Stylistically, my work is usually surrealist-sci-fi and darkly humoured. Influences include: William Burroughs, David Cronenberg, 80’s Manga, Red Dwarf, David Lynch and Reeves & Mortimer.

If you're interested in working with me to bring some of my stories to life, please contact me on New Grounds, stating the length of the story you would be interested in working on. I would also be interested in seeing some of your work as well.

Please note that I know bugger all about animation, and that I am happy for you to recreate a piece of my work however you envision it. I am, however, willing to narrate or voice my work should you wish.

No it's not. I apologise, I should have mentioned that in my original post. I'm hoping to use a collaborative project to promote the work of those involved.

I'd like try give a crack at it. Though one thing set first: Don't expect epic frame-by-frame animation like Harry Partridge (aka, Happy Harry if you have no idea who that is, shame on you :O). But rather more like something simple, a kind of South Park-ish animating method with simple visuals more move around pretty simply, not just from me but for pretty much most animators here.
Not meaning to be a douche saying you can't get anything nice for free. But if your stories really are like your babies, I don't wanna set you up for dissapointment. I think it's best to expect simple visuals that explain the story, with some addings from from the animator depending on how much fun he/she has working on it.

But I'd like to see watcha got on stories and what kind of stuff I can animate to it, I've been looking for some projects or collaborations to work on for the sake of practice. It's been getting hard to come up with ideas just to improve yourself, enough ideas to animate though, but just not the skills and experience to do it like I want to.

So feel free to look around on my NG profile and check my stuff. It's not grade-A proffesional shizzle (mostly animated sprites bashing eachothers brains out XD) anf if you wanna see, I also got some small experimetal stuff from old projects or just messing around.
