Libertarianism is a sound political thought if it weren't for the fact that it's divided between the kale eating, America hating, neo hippie/hipster white trash of the hard left, and the quasi-Republicans who are only in it for the weed, guns and removing God on everything of the hard right, it would be a perfectly viable party for everyone.

Of course, you could say that for any political party, but nowhere is there such a stark division in policy between two factions of the same party. It's no wonder why most people can't take them seriously even if they are sympathetic to their cause, go figure.

It's okay, I guess.

Libertarianism is great if you're already wealthy and own land. Otherwise it's fucking terrible.

Now this isn't to say Libertarians don't get things right, like the war on drugs being bullshit, or government surveillance being bullshit, but as a whole, Libertarianism (at least the American variety) is also a bullshit, dressed-up way of saying "Fuck you, I got mine."

It's the political equivalent of taking your ball and going home. It requires a fundamentally ill-informed and self-centered view of how a society works and a hopelessly naive notion of how capitalism functions. I.e. it's literally childish.

IMHO a political group based around denying government's ability to accomplish anything is probably not a great choice to run the fucking government.

I adhere to the belief people can do whatever they fuckin' want as long as they're not jerks who deny others the ability to do the same.
