Silent Hills officially cancelled

The newest installment in the silent hill franchise silent hills has just been confirmed cancelled this week via Guillermo del toro. article here. For those unaware this project was originally a collaboration between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro but after news spread that Kojima was being laid off by Konami many people wondered what would happen to the game after it left such a good impression thanks to P.T. Konami will be removing P.T. from the playstation store this week so if you want it get it now. Such a shame it had to end this way.

Shit sucks. I was looking forward to this game more than anything else right now. I'm not even much of a Silent Hill fan, I just love the first game and to a lesser extent the second.

We saw almost nothing of the actual game beyond PT so I don't know where you're getting that.

That had nothing to do with it's cancellation at all. Kojima and Del Toro had plenty of confidence in delivering a fine product. The suits at Konami just suck at doing business. Kojima was the designer, you can't have a game without the designer and Del Toro had no interest in making the game without Kojima.

That's really awful, I guess it was too good to be true. Konami is really fucking things up in 2015, I'm kind of scared of what's going to happen next. But that means the PS4 is now the 'Bloodborne emulator' because it seems to be its only use.

Hate to see this game get axed. We were about to get a very good Silent Hill game and probably one of the best we had in a long time and it gets cancelled. Even if they did bring it back it won't be potentially good as they originally planned and I hate that so much.

Yeah, I heard about this a few hours ago. It's such a shame, because P.T. showed off quite a lot of potential, and that was just a teaser. There's no telling how incredible and innovative Silent Hills could've been.

He's sadly correct. The PS4 really doesn't have any great games I can't get anywhere else, like on my last generation consoles. I'm not against remasters, but even this generation is over doing it.

I did. It was repetitious, boring, youtube fodder garbage. But I know people liked it and that doesn't mean im not a silent hill fan. To see it in the hands of a great designer like Kojima and an amazing director like Del Toro got me excited. It might not have been silent hill 3 good, but it would have been waves better than downpour and homecoming.

We already knew that the full game wasn't going to be like P.T. anyways. It was to merely drum up hype. Great idea and a great concept, but ultimately doomed when announced it wasn't going to be that way.
