When you get mad or irritated about something, what do you do to calm yourself down?
For me I just either listen to calm and soothing music, play video games while I imagine the enemies that I'm beating up are the person or thing that made me mad/irritated in the first place (pity that there isn't a game that does that for you), or both. I also read books to help me calm down.
sometimes my conformist parents make me so mad, the only way I can fix it is to listen to my linkin park albums and cry while writing a self-insert creepypasta fanfic.
A nice ocean breeze.
Going for a swim.
Eating some strawberries and cream.
Listening to some calming music, usually white noise such as wind in the desert.
Practice axe throwing, and smoke weed.
lately tho, I've been coming here to calm down.

going outside usually. i spend all day inside worrying about dumb things and getting paranoid, and it takes me hours to prepare myself to go outside and face society, and then i do it and everyone is nice and smiley and some of the friendly old blokes even give me a big kiss on the lips as i pass them in the street and it is really beautiful. it's liberating and puts my fears into context, but the next time i want to go outside i get scared again. please help me

Technically, there already is a video game that does that, but it's not as "beat-up" satisfying as I would of desired.

Or let all my anger out in one angry burst of....anger and then I'm good. For example. Today I got completely pissed off (for reasons I don't feel like sharing) so I took a board and snapped it completely in half with one swing and then I was good.
I like to prick at the back of my hand with my karambit. Not an 'emo' cutting thing, I just kind of idly poke at myself while listening to music or watching videos. The pain isn't the point, it just kinds of gives me something to do that doesn't involve sitting there and stirring in anger.
