Have faith that the mods will delete most and that the spam that doesn't get noticed slides off the pages.
Or change it so you have to have a few posts before you can make a thread in General, but that might lead to spam in some of the other forums, or spambots posting in threads. :/
The only real way is to hunt down whoever made those posts and burry them in the ground I'm afraid.
Hardly worth the effort but it WILL put an end to the anarchy.
You mean the spam bots with the advertisements for scams?
Not much you can do about them, you could delete every topic they make but it's unnecessary effort. Most people know not to post in those topics anyway so we can just let them die without them attracting any attention.

Oh we've done a bunch of other stuff to cut down on spam. At this point, there isn't much else we can do but moderate. It's just a few a day so not a huge deal.

I'm just glad you guys didn't go with the super hard to read CAPTCHA crap. I hate those. I have seen the CAPTCHA being used on register page these days and its pretty nice.

For a while I would make a list and PM them to the mods during the night. Nowadays I only send links if I see ones that were missed when they woke up from their non-Californian-nightowl sleepytimes
