Does Porn Count as Art?

In your opinion, does porn count as actual art or not?

Not counting high-quality hand-made drawings/paintings of naked people having sex since that seems to be on par with fine art, I don't believe that the majority of porn can ever be considered truly "artful." Pictures and videos of porn don't seem (to me at least) to be as artful as pictures and videos of outer space, the environment, television shows, movies, video games, and historical documentaries.

Keep in mind that a synonym for artful is "tasteful"

I dunno, some porn seems more tasteful then some of the trash that's been tossed about as art I've seen.

Edit: I haven't seen a whole lot of porn, and I've never visited pornhub, so my porn experience is limited.

This is tough. If you're going by the dictionary pornography is by definition sexual titillation without artistic merit. But the dictionary let hashtag and selfie in so fuck the dictionary.
But can there be a beautifully shot and performed love scene that is totally meant to sexually arouse the audience, absolutely. The only example I can think of off hand is Desperado, but I'm sure there are others.

I checked, and of the 2,723 pages of submissions on the Art Portal, only 118 pages of it is A-rated.

My belief is that art prompts a response for its viewer either emotional or otherwise and with that you'd have to say there would be some forms of pornography that would be artistic

I just checked the Movies Portal and the Games Portal.

Of the 6,505 pages of submissions on the Movies Portal, only 174 pages of it is A-rated.

Of the 3,180 pages of submissions on the Games Portal, only 55 pages of it is A-rated.

So in total, of the 12408 pages of submissions (excluding audio portal), 347 pages are A-rated, which is roughly 0.03% of all visually artistic content on Newgrounds.

You dont edit pornt to make a message go through, or to have some deep symbolic writting than in itself could be considered art, as in some movies. Quality porn is just made as such because people like watching (and paying. Especially paying) their titties look good and in 1080p 60 fps.
Whereas movies they go through the whole heavy editing process because what good is amovie, regardless of the story or acting, if it just looks like a sloppy mess. You dont sell a gem by casing it in a turd, you sell a gem by casing it in a pretty box.

As a feminist and humanities student, I believe that artistic porn involves equal representation (of genders) and the culmination of passion in each scene, each sexual thrust, each orgasmic moan, each hair-pulling moment of extreme amorous tension, and of course, the ephemeral ecstasy of convulsing orgasm.

I have yet to see porn fulfill such artistic standards of quality, because porn as an art form needs to transcend the idea of catering to an audience aiming to stimulate themselves to orgasm. What does this look like? Perhaps something beyond the amount of respect media industry allows porn to take precedence, especially pornstars.

Maybe not the porn itself more than the actual production work that goes into it. Art is such a subjective term sometimes that it's hard to classify anything that isn't explicitly artistic like a painting as art. Maybe pron that is well produced and carried out with artistic care is art and stuff like voyeurism is more invasive and less artistic.

I would say there is an art to creating good porn, that it's more than just two people fucking and a camera. So is the porn itself art? Not sure.

Are movies art? Are books art? Are the most well-funded projects done by the largest directors art? Are all of those copycat Marvel movies coming out of Hollywood art?

All fields of entertainment have art, none of those fields have a majority of content which is artful.
