So, I think we all remember or at least have heard of these famous hentai ads Newgrounds was showing back in the good old days. It was partially in the times when Newgrounds was famous for original content and it's support for freedom of expression, allowing artists to post stuff with Hitler, childlish pointless violence and just very immoral shit. Newgrounds didn't care that much about public opinion, that drew attention and lots of users.
Then, the times have changed. Tom grew up and stopped acting like he cares about shit like liberty or Newgrounds' spirit, he became an adult with wife, child and responsibilities who doesn't have time to care about this community like he did when he was younger and freer. He has actually removed lots of submissions in recent years that would not only be copyright infringement, but also those, that would just not be accepted like the public. I believe Tom is just affraid to lose ads contracts and keep the site friendly to as many groups the ads companies want him to. I don't even think there's any button anywhere on the site that leads you to adult section anymore. Newgrounds becomes this grey, usual gaming site that's being designed by advertisement companies, not the owners themselves. People aren't motivated to socialise, to create accounts and to come here like they used to. Newgrounds becomes nothing special at all.
Lately however, I started seeing these ads to some german (i presume) porn-themed browser game. What does this mean? Is Tom changing his policy again and trying to take back the steering wheel? Are ads comapnies disrespecting Tom enough to throw him a porn ad on main page, while he's trying to make the site children-friendly and bending over just these few degrees more?
Here's the ad of the game I'm talking about
