Never done it...and i understand how much work sucks but i wouldn't be able to work while drunk. I'd probably laugh till i vomit and then tell people truths that they need not know.....(might )get fired.

Ok so has anyone been drunk on the job and if so how did that work out for ya?

I got fired from Spencer's, so one day I decided to hang out with my friends and co-workers by chilling in the back with a handle of vodka. I was getting hammered, while they would come to the back and take a shot with me, then walk back out and resume working.

I wouldn't arrive to work drunk, though, that'd be irresponsible.

Why'd they fire you? Didn't you get them a ton of extra sales on stuff?

One beer before work works positive on worker's creativity and mood.

Thankfully I've never had a job I've had a reason to get drunk for!

Also never had a reason to get a drunk...

The short of it is, the loss-prevention manager made me take the fall for a destroyed employee bathroom door that literally every employee took a part in destroying.

The long of it is; Christmas season in mall retail sucks. So we would all frequently go into the back room and just take out our stresses, before emerging back on the sales floor reset, refreshed, and ready to rock. Somebody decided to take some of the hanging rack mounts and just start throwing them at the bathroom door which was across the room in the back storage space.

This escalated.

To the point where we were javelening poles into it, and almost making a game of it. By the time X-Mas season was over, it looked like a grenade went off in front of that door. There was even a large, clean hole punched through, so if you were taking a shit, you just had to turn your head to the right, and you'd see who was in the back room with you.

Loss Prevention guy came over for inspection a few months later, saw the door and he was fucking pissed. Since we all did some damage to it, we decided to blame it on the guy who quit in January. Sort of a "Dead Men Don't Talk" kind of agreement... my dumbass put in my written statement "I may have slammed or kicked the door a few times, but all of the visible damage was (the guy that quit)"

To the Loss Prevention guy, that was enough to pin the cost of damages on me, which the destruction of company property was a firable offense, so I got canned. Whoops!

Eh, the novelty of showing up to the workplace intoxicated isn't that great.

I mean, everyone thinks "YEAAAHH, work sucks, lets get schwasted, it'll make it go by faster, what could possibly go wrong"

If you drink like me, the slim chance you actually showing up to work, you're gonna be completely incapacitated, throwing yourself around everywhere not being able to get up.

I would drink more during work if I didn't have a DUI. So I mostly just smoke a shitload of weed, and work with alcoholics lol.

I could maybe try that, but I'd probably dip out to go drink more.

Can't just settle for that.

I've since lain off the sauce a lot though, it's done me no good in particular.

I've never really understood on how alcohol can be addicting, specifically beer. It starts to taste like fish after a while.

Because getting drunk is fun and if you keep drinking everyday for long enough you'll get withdrawals if you stop drinking. Also, booze becomes way easier to down after you're already drunk and don't care how it tastes anymore, so I'm guessing you've never even been more than tipsy at most.

Drinking before work is a really bad idea.
But hey, who'll stop the guy that does it, right?

Response to Drinking B4 work? 2014-12-21 11:37:05 (edited 2014-12-21 11:37:22)

Nope, never done it.
I don't have a job either, I wonder what kind of jobs would be hilarious if you showed up drunk.

Response to Drinking B4 work? 2014-12-21 12:15:00

Only an alcoholic would do that.

I've been to work hungover, still drunk from the night before.
It is totally miserable.
Every sound and sight brings pain.

I too have been hungover at work and it sucked
however being drunk at work might be a new adventure

like finding a new job
