I prefer Dr. Pepper but that's still technically a Pepsi product, so you're not wrong.

Dr Pepper is not a Pepsi product, it is its own thing (unless they were bought out sometime in that past few years by Pepsi) I believe it is owned by the Dr Pepper Snapple Iced Tea company though that may be a subsidiary of a larger conglomerate I'm not sure. Dr Pepper is however general bottle regionally by either Coca Cola or Pepsi plants because it is more cost effective for them to use the predominant bottler than to have their own bottling plants in most regions of the US.

Dr. Pepper is owned under the Dr Pepper Snapple Group. They don't have a complete network of marketers and distributors, so they outsource to other companies based on country. In the US, it is bottled under either Coca Cola or Pepsi contract. In Canada it is under PepsiCo.

Yeah, I here it's Coca Cola that handles Dr Pepper, in Oregon it's Pepsi. I don't know why but I find the whole soft drink industry to be pretty interesting.

I work in a grocery store. And there it is stocked by the Pepsi vendors so I thought it was a Pepsi product. That's what I get for making assumptions.
