The Block List was originally created as part of the PM system but liljim has updated it to be a sitewide feature. You can now access it via the Blocked Users link on your account options.

When you block a user, it defaults to blocking them in the following places:

Forums (their messages and threads collapse by default, you can click to expand)
Friend Requests
News (this is awaiting implementation to block them from blog lists)
Private Messages
Project Invites

From the Blocked Users page you can click the Pencil icon to manage your settings for individual users. For example, you can block someone from PMs but not block them on the forums.

If anyone has been on your nerves, give the updated block system a try! Let us know if you have any feedback / questions.

I don't really use it very much, but it's cool to have.

This may be used to separate the annoying users from the spambots, not that I really get any of that. Anyway, nice to see newgrounds being updated.

I've had Chytree blocked for a while, but I still seem to be a tester for this project.

Very nice. I wish we could add a feature where you would press a button to eject a shiv from the computers of the users you don't like so it'll stab em'.

Does this have to do with my browser or is it like that for everyone?

It will only apply to future invites... Although I think we do still need a way to remove yourself from a project.

Why is this new blocked users feature apparently completely separate from the blocked users on the blog posts feature? That makes no sense. Obviously if I block someone it means I want them blocked, not just blocked under blog posts only.

Also could be nice to make it mutual. For example if you block someone it forces you to be blocked to them as well. So not only their stuff is hidden to you by default but your stuff is hidden to them by default as well.

Well, they do two slightly different things. You can ban users from making posts to your blogs, but if you block them you'll not only do that (blocking will prevent them from making posts to your news posts), but you also won't see posts they've made in other people's news posts.

That said, it does seem kinda redundant to have both and we may deprecate the blog-only option. In all honesty, I'd completely forgotten about being able to block users from blog posts as it's not a feature I've ever used.

Ugh, no. If you want to hide another person's actions, that's fair enough, but if you're posting something publicly, it stays public to those who want to see it.

This is the kind of block feature I've wanted to see on here for years now but it's better than what I imagined considering back then it was only PM and news post. Hopefully I don't have to use it all that much but it's appreciated when I do need it.

It is my opinion that if you are a forum mod and have even a single user's forum posts blocked, you shouldn't be a forum mod.

How much does your attention cost? Maybe your attention is too pricey. Have you considered reducing the price of your attention so that people may be more inclined to pay it?

It's really weird to me that I'm only seeing your post, liljim's posts, and Tom's posts in this topic. The forums have been so quiet since this feature came out.
