Unity3D is great for making mobile games and not only that.
Give it a try (it's free): http://unity3d.com/unity/download
If you're aiming to follow the game developer path I recomend you learn how to program.
If you're thinking in develop for iphones you should learn Objective C language, if its for android you should learn Java.
For both cases it's better you learn the basics of the programming language and then start watching some more specific tutorials on how to create simple games for your own phone.
Unity, Scratch, Stagecast, Flixel, Construct2, Stencyl just to name a few.
