You finish your popcorn/candy/whatever in the first 5 minutes and the whole while you cant hear shit because your munching is louder than the movie.

Also movie theater food is expensive as all hell. (When I go I usually sneak food in because I cant afford 17 dollar popcorn) (but then again I never usually eat for the aforementioned reasons)

Anyway what are your thoughts on this?

I pretty much agree. You just sit there trying to make the food last and you can't hear the film as well as you would if you weren't chewing. It's also annoying when people are chewing food all around you.

I don't really go to theaters unless I have to. They're usually dirty and expensive as hell. I'll go if it's a clean theater, though.

I don't think I've ever had a problem hearing a movie at my local movie theater while eating. If you're having problems hearing a movie, perhaps your local movie theater should crank up the volume.

That's why you bring a flask into the theater and drink while watching. No eating necessary.

I usually bring a sizable bag of chewy candy (Mike & Ikes are good cuz they're not wrapped) and it lasts me the whole movie. Don't buy candy at the theater, that's a huge ripoff

One of my favorite theaters is a chain of them in New England - Smitty's

Basically it's a mash up of a restaurant and a movie theater. They have big leather chairs around tables in the theater itself. Their prices aren't too awful plus they offer beer and dranks! You order from a restaurant menu when you get there and your food arrives during the previews. When I moved away I was sad to discover that any theaters that offer service and food are high-end gigs and the prices are prohibitive. Too bad really because they can make so much money by offering cheap food fare at a little higher price plus beer. I don't need a filet mignon when I'm watching Transformers 3...Give me a burger and unlimited mountain dew refills and some waffle fries and I'll throw all my money at you.

I consider any moment I find myself eating junk food to be a failure, and everything sold in movie theaters is pretty much as shitty for you as it gets, so I avoid it as a whole.

Drinks: Bring in yourself
Candy: Bring in yourself
Popcorn: Buy in theater
Hotdogs/nachos/personal pizza/ burgers/etc: You don't need that shit in a movie theater anyway, why would you even do that, don't do that, it's messy and makes the theater smell awful stop fucking doing that.

it's not pointless. I don't want to be hungry while watching a 1 hour movie. how fucking hard are you munching your food to the point where you can't hear the movie?

Try making the snacks last then.

I usually have enough snacks to last throughout the movie, but bringing food into the theaters is illegeal and you can go to jail for it and the same goes for recording the screen with your IPhone

Have you tried closing your mouth while you chew, OP? Your fellow attendants probably want to be able to hear the movie over your eating too.

I don't know about there, but popcorns are not that expensive here from what I remember(it's been a long time since I last went to the movies). Whenever, I go my friends and I agree to not eat too much popcorns, because well...sometimes we are done with them in the teaser trailers, movie not even started. And I never had the issue of not hearing because of the movie.

It takes me the entirety of the movie to finish the popcorn. Most of the time I don't even finish it actually.

Some people like eating snacks while watching their programs.

It's not really that pointless if you enjoyed yourself while doing it.
If you're not personally enjoying it, then it's pointless for you.
