Hi guys, I've decided to make some "How to animate" or "How to draw" projects for my Youtube channel and I need a screen recorder software, which do you guys recommend?
I do not know much about screen recorders.

Fraps is good, but it's more of a game recorder (it won't record the entire desktop)
I recommend Bandicam or Open Broadcaster Software. They're intuitive, and they aren't a huge drain on your computer.
Yeah, I heard FRAPS is good for gaming but nothing else.
I will give a try to Open Broadcaster Software, thanks for the suggestion.

If you're just recording how-to's, then HyperCam ought to do it, so long as you can put up with a watermark.
I highly recommend Camstia Studio if you serious about recording
Its not free but it doesn't lag when recording unlike most free tools

I actually have Camstasia but sometimes it gets stuck and stops recording, I don't know why. :(

Camstia is pretty heavy on cpu . Especially if you make videos then you need a strong PC

The 'best' screen recorder that I know is Faststone Capture:
http://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm
I think it's better than hypercam because it can take screenshots, and record screen activity,it's also highly configurable, and can record in high definition.
It also has lots of other features.

as does the first suggestion from link I posted, of best.
I mean seriously, you are taking a chance regardless of which program you use. Please do not tell me you are going to illustrate via flash then speed the FPS and add music, and post it to our fucking portal.

The difference between Faststone Capture and the other screen capture utilities is in the price.
Also, you can try the free trial,30 days, then decide by yourself.

I guess I take purchasing crap for granted.
HyperCam, Camtasia, Bandicam.
They're pretty good for tutorial videos and the like.
Thank you, I will check it out.
