I'm trying to code an intro so its one frame in the main timeline and will play through the intro before going on to the rest of the timeline

I am assuming you are using flash or actionscript which makes this question in the wrong subforum.
Flash related questions go in the FLASH subforum while other programming threads go in the PROGRAMMING subforum.
Also, when you ask a question, please be as specific as possible. What kind of "intro" are you coding? It sounds like you want to play a short animation in which case I would recommend using MOVIECLIPS to accomplish this task. You can find out about movieclips and other flash related stuff here:
