How do you mix audio for remixes? 2014-05-13 10:19:00

I tried to make a Slam Jam remix like everyone else because hey, I actually like them a lot. Well, turns out it's a lot harder than just lowering one volume and raising the other ones. So, I'm just asking a basic question, how do you mix the audio so they can match? I mean, it's hard enough to have it match the tempo with the original, but to actually have one audible without overpowering the other? It's pretty nuts, is there something I'm missing or am I just an idiot?

You need to separate melody, chords and beat (lairs don't count) Until you get the timing for each of those you will not get the desired result .

Its sort of a step by step process . Identify each part of the song and replicate it one by one .

Although with remixing you have a creative freedom to make your own pace so i don't see what the problem is .

Are you talking about making a mashup, or legitimately remixing? If you're trying to mashup, you need to learn beatmatching and sync the beats so they don't clash.
