I think my art has changed.

I think my art has changed. I have noticed this since posting my artwork to different sites I have listed.
But I can show examples here:

Drawn with touch pad in November 2013:

Drawn the first day I got my new graphic tablet on December 25, 2013:

Completed January 2014 with my graphic tablet:

No layers were used in any of those pictures. And I was still trying to improve my coloring skills. However, for over a week, I worked on the following picture. Not only did I learn how to use layers, but I also learned the secrets to better coloring. It is the layer mode called "multiply." And look what happened...

I don't think your art has really changed at all, its all very similar in the way it was drawn and the way it looks as well as the content of the drawings in all of the links you've provided. I mean three of the four are sonic, Stepping outside of Sonic fanart would probably help to define your own style more or at least make your old work more distinguishable from your new work.
Also try to keep all of your art in one thread, it keeps the forums tight and gives anyone who wants to look up hour art in the future a nice timeline of your progress.

Really? I was saying that it changed as far as my progress. Drawing with touch pad (unless I am making pixel food) is hard, and without layers and multiply, coloring digitally became a little difficult. But while looking at my past works compared to my most recent works, I think my art has improved but I think I still need improving in some areas.

I do a little bit of both, fan art and original works. The fourth link is an original work, while the rest are Sonic fan art.

And, I never thought of that. A thread to post progress of my work? That will be something to think about and try to do.

i actually agree with jack here, i dont think it has really changed much, but you also havnt really given us much to go on.. like 2 sonic pictures that are very similar, 1 attempt at a face and 1 sonic from behind that looks to have been done a while ago, but besides your non sonic picture the style is similar and your art lacks your own style because you havnt really developed one yet (that i can tell) as jack said expand out of sonic fanart, because if sonic is all you draw then thats what you'll remain doing and there wont be much to say about your artwork after that, if you draw the same picture 100 times, then cool you could probably do it well. but i've then seen it 99 time befor and will be bored of it give us something new! something fresh!

There are ways to get by with using a laptop trackpad.

Using the pen tool in photoshop is one of the great ways to get by with it.

I personally paint with my trackpad back when I started.

I wouldn't say it changed a lot within those last four images, but you rather "refined" it a bit. The lines are getting more confident. So far so good, if you consider Jack's advice and branch out to more different stuff, you are certainly on the right path. That doesn't mean you should not draw any Sonic at all, just try out new things, too.

Okay, one of my issues for example is drawing better poses. But I see where Luwano is saying about my art looking more refined. However, doesn't the way my art looks compared to my most recent work look different? Due to the lack of control using touch pad that I had before, that is what I meant when I said that my art has changed. I hope I did not confuse anybody....

Oh! And for the last link of my picture drawn with touch pad, you may have to tilt your screen a bit to see the colors fully, depending on your computer or laptop screen. I'm sorry.

i dont think its changed rather you've got more confidence and are showing improvement, its not a change in art style when i think change in art think like simpsons to southpark, that to me is a change in art style, what you have i feel is just improvement on your drawing abilitys which is great you have signs of improvement, but thats just it, its not changing your style just improving on it, and when you look back it might look diffrent but alot of your original characteristics are the same,
all that being said.. keep at it and keep practicing! best of luck :D

Thank you so much! I am glad to know that me improving in my art skills is pointed out by other people. Although I think I still have some ways to go, I think I have come a long way too. And I am glad I am not the only one who thinks so.
