Some of the puzzles can be pretty tricky sometimes though.
No, it is not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination.
Portal 2 is okay. Don't listen to others, play games for yourself and decide if you like them.

It doesn't try to be funny, it IS funny without trying. Everything you have heard is wrong, the graphics are amazing (for the source engine, that is), the humor is one of it's strongest points, the voice acting is superb, the characters are perfect and the gameplay is absolutely brilliant, you should definitely get this game as soon as possible.

It's brilliant but you should definitely play the first game too. Portal pretty much defined the last generation.
I think Portal and Portal 2 are both fantastic games. And even if humour is the most important factor in a video game for you, I don't think you'll be disappointed with them.
But I agree with DrStrongbad that you should just play the games and judge them for yourself. They're definitely worth checking out. Also, you can buy them for like $5 on a Steam sale, so if you end up disliking them it's no big loss.
get portal and portal 2. they are amazing and funny and awesome and challenging in the best way possible.
I cant guarantee that you'll like it if you hate puzzle games but the humor doesn't feel excessive or forced and whats there is actually pretty funny. If you're main concern is with the humor why not watch a clip from a lets play?
