I know that this is not exactly the same as Flash, but my question pertains to the Flash IDE. If I am wrong in placing my thread here, please tell me. Anyways, I want to make a game in the Flash IDE targeted for Android. How good is this method for mobile game development? (i.e. performance, etc)? How much of a toll would this have on RAM usage?

Even though you get 'native' performance with adobe air it's faster to program with other programs for android. RAM usage would depend on your application.
Unless you absolutely want to get the most out of the mobile device it's a agreeable tradeoff to make to choose adobe air.

I would say not bad if you use starling or AXGL the later is more suitable for games and has neat stuff like collision detection and tilemaps kinda like flixel but much faster on mobile devices.
