Hello there!
I'm Sam, I'm the writer/storyboard artist/concept artist etc etc of "Welcome to Bedlam", an upcoming animation group dedicated to creating quality short animations. We currently have three members, myself, Rob our animator and Nicklseye our composer, and we are in need of a dedicated background artist who can create stylised backgrounds to fit with the visual aesthetic of the piece in a variety of styles.
If necessary we can provide direction and drafts of the backgrounds for you to improve upon but we'd like to give you free reign to express yourself!
We have begun production on Horsefeathers, our first short about a girl left in the wilderness to die by her mother. Obviously it's not a comedy. We're planning on making a kickstarter project to get some funding for the group and if you deliver you can rest assured you'll receive a portion of the proceeds.
Please note: this is not a guarantee of payment or wages. if the Kickstarter fails to meet its goal none of us are getting paid. That's okay for us since we are doing this for the love of animation, not for profit so you'd best be in it for the right reasons, any funding we receive will simply be a bonus.

You'll be working closely with us, we chat on Skype and Facetime often to discuss ideas and improve aspects of our charaters and storyboards so if you love to speak your mind then we'll get along perfectly.
For Horsefeathers we're looking for a direction inspired by Scott Wills and Eyvind Earle, for another upcoming project named "The Aviationist" we'd be looking for a more colourful and isometric approach a la "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" or "Dexter's Lab" but honestly, if you're skilled enough we'd be happy to leave it in your hands, this is just a heads-up.
