Its a rumor at this point, but how do you guys feel about how the next sonic game being a sequel to the adventure series?

If it is as good as sonic adventure 2 was then count me as sold.

However if it comes true I would wait until I know more before buying because I want to be sure it was not made in the sonic 06 mold.

i agree, the adventure games were handled badly plus i'm pretty sure that the next sonic was confirmed to have gameplay similar to skylanders and disney infinity so it can't be adventure 3. but that could just be a rumor

Holy shit, they're actually hinting at this? Shit. I wonder how they'll do it. Are they gonna use the SA 1 and 2 gameplay, or will they stick with the Colors gameplay? Either way, I have faith that they won't fuck this up since after Sonic 06, Sonic Team started being competent again.

I could really see a third Sonic Adventure game turning out wonderfully. I remember getting Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on the GameCube quite a few years ago and really enjoying it, even though I'd heard the GC port was shit compared to the original Dreamcast version.

I'm in agreement with you there. Chao garden was my favorite part of the game, Especially when you have one of the three chaos chaos. Maybe we will get some more badass secret evolutions or something like that in this game, I hope.

I'm half and half on this. Sonic adventure 1 and 2 are amazing but With Sonic's recent games, i'm skeptical. However, SOnic seems to be making a comeback, Sonic 4, episode one and 2, colours and generations were good so adventure 3 might be good.

Sonic 06 WAS SA3. Same gameplay types, same story, but replace water lizard with fire lizard, rehashed levels from SA1, it's just that it was crap.

Sonic Unleashed was more SA3 in that its Japanese title was Sonic World Adventure.

Sonic Heroes, Shadow The Hedgehog, Sonic 06, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations are technically the sequels to the adventure series. So calling the new sonic game Sonic Adventure 3 would be rather awkward.

Considering the 3D game series plummeted to nothingness after sonic adventure 2, I highly doubt it would be good at all. Don't worry everyone! It is using the name "sonic adventure" thus will be just as good as the previous ones and not shit like the more recent games!
