I thought Yanqui U.X.O was their most well known, recognized and highly regarded album. No?

Where did you hear that? I love Yanqui, but it's usually their most divisive.

nope

it came towards the end of the great 90s post-rock trend and is definitely weaker than their debut or even their side project, set fire to flames

i would say the definitive post-rock album is certainly spiderland

it's far more universally acclaimed and influential

gy!be probably wouldn't even exist without spiderland

Eh....as much as I like Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven I'd say its nowhere near their best album.

I'd go with F# A# Infinity or Yanqui U.X.O.

Also I prefer really anything by Jakob over LYSFLAH too so...yeah....especially their self titled EP.

Absolutely agreed, but still I think Slint had tinges of math rock, actually a lot more than tinges, so they're not exactly pure post rock if you know what I mean.
I'd say F#A# is the definite, along with Spiderland.

Getting through the 20/20 Experience... It really is a very well composed album, I find that JT is consistently underestimated.

Yet to hear that, haven't even heard about it before you told me just now. Spiderland will always be my favourite though, it really clicks with me.

I am currently listening to this:

  • Nico Nico Douga - Kirbomix~
Nico Nico Douga - Kirbomix~ by Kirbopher

Kirbopher sings his own version of the "NICO NICO DOUGA Medley"

    Score
    4.40 / 5.00
    Type
    Song
    Genre
    Techno
    Popularity
    45,743 Views

Granted, it's only because I posted it before when talking about the longest song I had ever heard. Wow, this has to be the first time I reposted any link on this forum more than once a day.

You could try Can, Electric Moon, and Sula Bassana.
Though those are more "psychedelic/space rock".

I'm on a big Midwest Emo Revival/Indie Punk kick right now. The main band being Glocca Morra. Also, Death Grips and Chance the Rapper are rad.
