It's not the best show in the world or anything, but it's entertaining to watch, it's funny, it's stylish, and the humor is childish, but in a surprisingly clever way.

It's a clever and fairly funny cartoon drawn with an interesting style and topped off with nostalgia value.

Nice bias there pal, but Invader Zim was just great n comparison to all the other cartoons being aired at the time ie: Fairly Odd Parents and Spongebob. It had a unique art style and a cute mentally challenged sidekick Gir. It was spastic and very well animated so yeah I think it would have a nice fan-base.

Watch the whole episodes instead of just quotes people pick out, you will find the funniest most entertaining things about the show are inbetween the lines, the general way the characters act to things and the backwards way the world is shown, generally moments of complete silence with absolutely nothing happening proves to be the finest moments in the show. Of course most of them likely fly over peoples heads, but if you actually have an open mind to such things you can see what the creators wanted the show to be rather than just a funny childrens show.

If you want an example watch Zim Eats Waffles. An entire episode based around that single simple concept which is executed perfectly.

It's because Katy is very found of the show.

The only new and creative from that era was Courage, sure, there were a few decent ones like EEnE, which I've outgrown, but the only one that really stands out is Courage, IZ was just a mediocore cartoon.
