It's Wednesday evening. The upgrade is done.

Time stamps are so hard to read.

I'm not a computer programmer in any sort of way, so my question is,

Are there any noticeable changes on the users' side that we should see?

No. They were just updating the software that keeps data on NG like threads, replies, info about Games, Movies, Audio, Art, that sort of stuff. I don't think they fixed any bugs though.

It was just internal bug fix for their database (MySQL and such). So probably no. Unless by magically after they fix all the rouge stack queries and NG servers load stuff much faster... or I don't notice that!!!

sorry for double post.

I bet people nowadays rarely experience a 'server/site down'. What's with all the whining? Couldn't you just wait? Imagine someday Facebook announces 'someone sudo rm -f /* our data' then I expect to see some mass suicide happen. Oh time will tell...

That just means that it wasn't a database issue. I'm a little saddened that you thought it might be...

It's not; you need to (1). refresh the page or (2). clear your cache.

Cache clearing is a lot of work.

I noticed that the website seemed to be a lot slower on Thursday, but luckily, that's passed over now. I was amazed at how much stuff I got done while the website was down, like do the vacuum cleaning, reading, getting the mail, and cleaning up my room! I guess it's always good to get stuff done in the real world.
